A touch of ginger.
A dash of spice.
A cowboy and a pastry chef...
A recipe of naughty and nice.

Spending the holidays with her brother after hitting a crossroads in her career, Rachel Murphy keeps her dream of owning a pastry shop alive by creating custom gingerbread houses for clients in a small Montana town. And her Christmas wish list keeps growing this year--a bigger kitchen, a family, a place to call home...and maybe someone to share it all with.

When handsome dude ranch owner Nate Vaughn grants one of Rachel's Christmas wishes--offering her a workspace of her own--she can't refuse. As they grow closer, Rachel and Nate find more than pastries heating up in the kitchen. Is mixing business with affairs of the heart a recipe for disaster? Or will all of Rachel's wishes come true?

Beautifully written story and details. I could picture myself being right there in Montana for Christmas with all the snow. Rachel Murphy had been taken advantage of some people she thought were her friends when they planned to go into business of opening a bakery in Phoenix. Hurt, but still holding onto her dreams, she decides to get out of town for a while. She goes to visit her brother Ty at Bar VS in Montana for a Christmas vacation. The owner of the dude ranch Nate Vaughn has agreed to let her use the ranch kitchen to make Christmas sweet treats to sell in the town of Marietta. Nate expect Ty's little sister to be much younger, not the beautiful young lady that he finds in his kitchen making gingerbread houses. The attraction was instant for them both. But, Ty doesn't want his sister dating a cowboy, especially one like Nate who always puts business first. Rachel doesn't trust too many people after what recently happened to her. Will they become just good friends or will they become much more.

A Lovely Sweet Holiday Romance! Home for Christmas by Melissa McClone is a lovely sweet and clean holiday romance. It’s perfect for curling up with in an easy chair with a cup of hot chocolate. This is the first book in the author’s Bar V5 Dude Ranch series and the second book in her Copper Mountain Christmas series. It works perfectly well as a stand-alone read with a self-contained romance and plotline. This is the story of venture capitalist and dude ranch owner Nate Vaughn and pastry chef Rachel Murphy. Rachel’s brother, Ty, raised her after they lost their parents when Rachel was little. Rachel is twenty-six now, but Ty still sees her as his little sister and he’s just as protective of her as he was back then. Ty put Rachel through Culinary School to help her fulfill her dream of opening her own bakery in Arizona where she lives. However, she trusted the wrong business partners and they took her for everything. Still reeling from that devastating betrayal, she has come to the Bar V5 Dude Ranch to spend Christmas with her brother who is the Ranch Foreman there. It will be their first White Christmas together. Missing being in the kitchen, Ty offers to let her use the industrial kitchen at the ranch. She’s in seventh heaven in her element when Nate, the ranch’s owner, comes home and follows the delectable smells into his kitchen - and finds Rachel there. Nate is a very smart nerd. He had his future all planned when his father got sick and Nate had to move to Montana to take over the family ranch. Now, he cannot imagine doing anything else. He just wishes he had someone to share it with. As Rachel needs venture capital now to realize her dream of her own bakery, Nate suggests that she market her gingerbread houses in nearby Marietta to earn the seed monies she needs. The more they are around each other, the more Nate realizes he really wants Rachel to stay at the Bar V5 Ranch with him. But… while he’s extremely smart with figures, he’s the pits at expressing feelings; graphs and charts don’t work well in the romance department. Rachel is scared of being hurt again and she doesn’t want business advice. Being strongly attracted to his partner’s sister spells trouble with a capital T – but Nate can’t help himself. When Rachel refuses his help, he schemes to help her on the sly with Operation: Hansel and Gretel. However, secrets have a way of seeing the light of day at inopportune times. I loved this couple and was pulling for them to find that they could each have everything they wanted… together. Living in Florida, I enjoy reading holiday stories with snow during the summer just to cool off and this easy quick read works very well for accomplishing that. Melissa’s writing is so vivid that readers will feel that they are at the Ranch breathing the cold air and enjoying the gorgeous scenery. This story will make you yearn for snow and hunky Montana cowboys and is guaranteed to get you in the mood for Christmas. I still get a warm and fuzzy feeling just thinking of it! This is the first book I’ve ever read by Melissa McClone, but I want to rectify that soon! Give yourself a dose of cinnamon and spice and pick up Home For Christmas soon! Good thing Rachel Murphy's gingerbread doesn't get burned as bad as she has in love and business! After suffering a severe setback in her plans to open her own bakery in Arizona, Rachel decides to visit her brother Ty, who is the foreman at a guest ranch near Marietta, Montana. Hopefully, the complete change of scenery will take her mind off her troubles and give her some ideas of how to begin again. It doesn't hurt that she can use the huge kitchen at the ranch thanks to the owner and Ty's friend, Nate Vaughn. It also doesn't hurt that Nate is smoking hot and a financial whiz, too! As Rachel literally bakes up a village of gingerbread to raise money for her dreams of a bakery, she also has to decide if she wants to go back to Arizona or stay closer to Ty. Nate does all he can to convince her to stay, but he's sure that Ty wouldn't quite approve of his motives, since he's falling hard for Rachel. He knows that if Ty gets riled up, he may just take his sister far away and break their business partnership. The remote ranch and the cozy town with its friendly citizens and unique businesses provides the perfect setting for this winter wonderland of a story. It makes you want to visit this special place.
