this is not a standard 8x10 page notebook, but it is perfect for students taking multiple classes. i can take notes and write down reminders for test dates and deadlines for assignments for one class, and then switch to another color and do the same for my next class. it's fabulous!! no more dumb notebook dividers with those little pieces of paper in the tabs that you have to cramp a tiny scribble on and they always fall out anyway. each page has a thin strip down the right side that is color-coded, so even if you remove a page, you'll know right away what class the notes or recorded assignment is for. and ladies, if your purse is decent-sized, this baby will fit right in and save you space in your book bag. it's perfect, i love it, SO glad i stumbled across this notebook!

This notebook lasts me a whole school year and the format of the page allows my work to be done neatly. It is always nice to add some color to your math homework.

I have used this notebook over a period of several years and it's still going strong. I'm left handed so the fact that I can bend the pages back with the spiral is a definite must. The paper is great quality and each section is color-coded (lines on the paper and the edge of the page). I would definitely recommend this notebook for any use!

I always like to keep my meeting notes on a specific topic in one place so I can refer back to earlier conversations or assignments. As a result, if I went directly from one meeting to another, I'd have to carry several notebooks. When I discovered the Miquel Rius spiral notebook, especially in the medium size which easily fits into my briefcase and doesn't add as much weight as a larger notebook, I realized I had found the perfect tool. The five colored sections enable me to keep notes on five different projects in one place, so I only need to carry one notebook all day. In addition, if there's a page I need to remove for any reason, the finely perforated edge makes for a very easy detachment, with a perfectly striaght line. Finally, when a project is completed, the standard two-hole punch, (along with the above mentioned perforations), make it simple to store the project notes in a binder for easy filing. I am truly delighted to have found this notebook, and look forward to continuing to use it both professionally and personally.

I originally wanted a "book journal" to record my thoughts on the books I've completed reading . But for some reason or another , none that the store stocked were acceptable . This spiral notebook , with it's colored margins and blocked heading space at the top of each page ,was an excellent substitute "book journal" or any other sort of journal or dossier . I am very pleased with my purchase .

I love this note book! I'm going back to get another TWO and one of the larger 8x11 notebooks too! They're brilliant for school, work and home projects making it very easy to organize and locate notes and details. Two thumbs WAY up!!

Perfect size. Great quality. I use it for work, it holds its shape and always looks good. I alternate colors everytime I purchase one.

The perfect notebook/journal. Color coded edges. Perforated so you can rip out and bind with like material. I own no less than 8 of these. Good stuff.

This is a wonderful notebook, at a great price, with perfectly shaded lines (not too dark or too light). Like another reviewer said, it lasts a whole year, or a solid semester of even the most note-taking-intense courses. The price is exceptional for what you get.

I bought this notebook way back in 2000 for my college trip to Japan. It was a nice, sturdy notebook great for class notes, personal journal entries, and as a sort-of scrapbook. Years later, when I went back to Japan as an student, I decided to buy the same kind of notebook, which I used as a journal and a place to write early drafts of letters and emails. In the years after that, I tried using Moleskines which are nice-looking, but their stiff binding (even with the soft cover ones) requires that you use both hands to keep them open as you write. Also, my hand always felt a bit cramped when writing on Moleskines. Recently, I started taking a creative writing class so I was in the market for a new journal. I knew that I would be spending long periods of time writing so I wanted something that could stay open and at the same time be able to write comfortably without having my hand feeling cramped. So yesterday, it occurred to me: why not the notebook I used for my trips to Japan (which I now know are made by a company called Miquelrius)? I had seen them around places like B+N so I stopped by my local B+N and sure enough, I was able to buy one there. For me, it's perfect: It has a nice sturdy cover and is spiral-bound so it stays open. It's not so small that writing on it is uncomfortable but not so large that it makes it hard to carry around. And even if you don't use the color coding to divide the notebook into different subjects, the touch of color is very nice. Plus, the ruling is just the right width for my style of writing. Perforated pages are a plus. I don't know why I ever tried any other kind of notebook for personal journals. From now on, I'm sticking to these ;-)
