The quality of this journal is superb. The overall dimension in just right for slipping into a messenger bag or smaller, the leather ties to keep the journal closed do not slip or loosen as I thought they might, and the feel and weight of the leather give the words and drawings the importance I think they deserve!

Another huge plus is finding a journal like this that is unlined. The blank pages allow for writing, sketching, doodling, lists, just about anything you could want to have a journal for. The pages are a warm cream color, which I thinks helps the creativity flow. We've all stared at a blank white piece of paper with no idea how to fill it, and I think the warmer tone takes away some of the anxiety/pressure, dare I say panic about putting pen to paper and just.....beginning.

Best journal I've ever come across, that is, if you're looking for one that is organic, not structured.

Quite a beautiful, old-fashioned notebook. Pages are thick and course, though bound well in a modern style. Holds calligraphy ink very well.

I purchased this as a gift for a DR. going on a stint in Haiti. He loved it and while it's not the greatest quality journal available it was oerfect for the purpose and was really appreciated.

Love this notebook, I wish I could afford to buy a hundred of them right now. It looks great, functions even better, the paper is nice and  heavy as well as textured and colored well to seem as if it is old handmade parchment or something. Takes ink from a quill well if your  into that sort of thing. Works great with various different artistic mediums as well, such as graphite, oil stick, regular old pencils. When  bound shut it does not shift around much and the tie pretty much stays wrapped tightly. Mine has never come open on me and also has not smeared my pencil drawings much at all.  As said above, I love this notebook. Its old school, real old school.

Very Good Journal. Leather is amazing, quality is amazing, and gives the writer a true feel to let imagination flow.

Pages were too thick, would have prefered thinner pages for writting on.

I do like these journals--I have several--but I REALLY wish the pages were white instead of the dark cream color. Also, I've had the strings break and entire signatures fall out, which is annoying.
