I am overall very impressed with this stationary and would recommend it to anyone who wishes to have a sentimental or personalized touch to their experiences and enjoyments with others. There are only a couple of things I would suggest: First, This stationary is a good weight, but it is because it is composite paper (multiple layers of different weights). This means it would fray or tear if there is a slight fracture in the paper... not that this is a problem normally. Second, This paper doesn't work well with water based inks (such as Parker). It doesn't soak into the ivory layer, and it doesn't stand long before it can be washed away. You should exclusively write with Gel based or ballpoint pens on this paper. I personally enjoy writing with fountain pens, but I do have to use my upper end gels on this paper. Other than these things, I would highly recommend this stationary. It is still absolutely stunning.

For someone who enjoys writing letters, the usual stationary sets sold in stores are inadequate. With only 10 or 20 sheets of paper and an equal number of envelopes, the assumption is that you will be writing brief thank you notes or bread-and-butter letters. I write lengthy letters to my friends and enjoy a product that allows me to do so.

On my seemingly unending search for the ideal paper for my fountain pens, I've stumbled across this treasure from B&N. I've looked discriminatingly for paper that is not too thick, and by no means thin, that would accept fountain pen writing. First and foremost, there are one hundred sheets of paper per set - a good deal, considering the price. With fifty envelopes, this allows for two sheets per envelope, a fair amount, or perhaps supplying a bit more envelopes than needed. Somewhat disappointingly, though, are the twenty four seals provided. (How else am I going to seal off the other twenty six envelopes?) The presentation appears masculine, although a female writer could easily take to this paper also. The weight of the paper is excellent, at least 28 lb, although I am no expert. This is excellent for fountain pen use because it does not allow ink to bleed easily through. The translation of nib thickness to ink mark is superb. As the nib glides across the paper, there is a brief moment before the ink sinks in, just enough not to cause feathering. The light brown color contrasts well against black or brown ink, very pleasing to the eye, and very easy to read, compared to the bright white papers we're all used to taking notes with. I may have found my permanent letter stationary. Why have I primarily based my review off of whether or not this paper takes well to fountain pens? Well, because roller ball and ball points do not discriminate. They are so cheap, that the type of paper does not matter. If you want ball point discrimination, you may as well write using recycled paper, wide ruled from your local drug store.

I was very surprised to see the reviews claiming this stationery works well with fountain pens. The box I purchased did not. (Maybe I need to try writing on the back side of the paper?) My ink beaded up on the surface and took some time to dry, never really soaking in to the paper. I wish the box had been labelled with the information that this paper has been coated or treated with something, making it not work with fountain pen ink. I agree the paper is lovely and a very nice weight, but fountain pens are my preferred writing tool and I am disappointed that I cannot use my nice pens with this paper.

I purchased the stationery to use as a formal invitation to print and send myself. Although the description was clear as to the contents, I was immensely satisfied with the quality of the paper, and the thought that had gone into the choice of color on the inside of the envelope flap, which matches perfectly with the design and the color of the seal. The total package is a classy, aesthetically-pleasing piece of correspondence. I have also used the remaining sheets for handwritten notes and the quality of the paper holds up well to fountain pens. I recommend this stationery set, unabashedly, knowing that everyone will be quite pleased with the product and the image and message it sends to anyone receiving it.

I had never tried this writing paper before--but I was wonderfully surprised by it. The quality of thid stationary is very high. Just right in weight --not too thick definitely not too thin. I also love the "torn" edges of the paper The color of this is also very nice. This is a color good for many people. I want this paper to write to others for different reasons. Its not girly girl---as I already have rose bordered paper...and I do not want a "mans " paper with heralding....so this just so perfect. I also bought this on sale ---so the price was very good as well !! Good for anyone !

Needed a simple, but elegant gift for a special family member. This boxed stationery filled the bill. The price was right, too!!
