I love this bag HOWEVER, I have had it only approx. 3-4 months and the zipper for the front compartment (where pens, etc. are stored) has broken after only regular use. Unfortunately, I did not save the receipt as I didn't think I needed to after the first few months. Very disappointed that B&N would not exchange the bag (they are the ONLY store that carries this particular bag). Would love to have another but will not pay that much again d/t potential for breaking. B&N, please consider changing your policy, particularly when a product can ONLY be found at your store, you should be open to returns or exchanges, at least in the first few months that you have the item in stores - (no way I could have had the bag longer than a few months since only available in store for a few months)

One of the unique features of this bag are the outside pockets, which are just the right size for a cell phone. An underflap pocket (on outside of bag under the flap) is a zippered 'supply' pocket with place for pens, change, wallet, smart phone, etc. Inside pocket is padded (for small laptop, ipad, etc) and large enough for books, files, notebooks. The only drawback I experienced is the outside zipper broke within a day of using it. The verticle style works really well - fits under my arm perfectly.

I absolutely love this bag! I used it for 2 years during my junior and senior year in high school. It held everything like a champ. There did come a limit of what I could put in there but it held 4 notebooks, 2 folders, lots of loose papers, my water bottle, and 1 textbook/binder with ease. It has even held a laptop, iPad, 3 pairs of mallets, and a folded shirt and aside from a little shoulder pain from carrying it all day it was great. It has served me very well and has gone on a lot of trips with me and all very successful. Now I think it may have come to an end since it is 2 years old there is a lot of wearing down and I think there is time for a change. If you need a school bag or for work I strongly recommend this bag.

Great design and size, but due to the cheap materials (Faux Leather?), at $40 it is a rip off. Front zipper started sticking right away. Faux Leather cracked in below 30 degree temps. Purchased in November, but only a 30?? day warranty? So long B&N. Adrian

I got this to keep, well, everything while I'm at work. It has lots of goodie pockets the pic doesn't show! Top flap zipper pocket I keep notes I cant lose. Front pocket is zipper closed and has pen holders, cell phone holder, and a mesh two pocket. Easy to get into and I love that. Interior is large enought to hold a travel umbrella and cosmetics bag and billfold easily. Padded pocket inside holds my iPad or a small laptop or nook, or book. I love it!

I love this bag so much. I got it in the beginning of my Sophomore year in high school and now I'm halfway through my Junior year. It's held some pretty hefty books, including the Campbell-Reece AP Biology book, the McGraw-Hill AP World book, and a few binders through its time. It barely has and damage. This bag can hold anything, and you can take it anywhere. As sappy as it may sound, I've had some really fond memories with it.

I have been searching high and low for a laptop bag with a little bit of storage for notebooks. I live in a city and walk pretty much everywhere that I go, so I needed a good bag for carrying stuff with me. My very first time out a longer walk with this bag, halfway through my trip the metal piece that connects the strap to the bag just split into pieces. All I had in it was my little Nook, my day planner, and a wallet. Lucky I didn't have my laptop in the bag because everything came crashing down onto a concrete floor. The bag is very attractive and the perfect size, so I am insanely disappointed by this. I just got this as a Christmas gift and the person who gave it to me doesn't have the receipt anymore, so I sure hope that they will return this bag. I do not want another one after this disappointment.

I bought this bag 2 years ago and it has held up well. It is a ‘workhorse’ bag with faux pas leather which has begun to crack. That is the only major issue - all else is good. Being a slim bag, it is perfect for my notebook, iPad, kindle, with a pocket for pens, change, and even a key clasp. The best part about this bag is that, being made of canvas, it was not too expensive for a messenger bag. I have bought other messengers in the past, but the slim line of this makes it easy to cary. The canvas belt is holding up very well. It is sufficient to prevent rain from leaking in, but I am not out in the rain for long periods of time carrying it around either, so I cannot comment any further other than I have had no issues with rain seeping in. Large books may be an issue. This bag is light duty. For the money, I am well pleased with my purchase. cannot create a pen name. mark
