The ground shuddered again. There was a loud crack. "A tree is falling!" Max's brown eyes widened. "Directly on us!!!" He added with gasp. Lily shrieked. "Everyone get out!" The group clumsily scrambled out just as the tree began to fall. "What do we do now?" Jack wailed rather pitifully. "How am I supposed to know?" Chloe growled. The ground shook again. Max grabbed a tree to help him keep his balance."I guess we stay down and hope and tree doesn't fall on us?" He suggested, half joking. "Maxwell!!!!!! If you are trying to crack a joke NOW..." Lily threatened. "Okay, okay!" The ground shook again and Max tightened his grip on the tree. Another tree fell missing Chloe by two feet. She scrambled away and dove into a bush. "Ugh! Now I've got leaves in my hair!" Chloe groaned and pushed her blonde locks out of her face. "Seriously?! You're worrying about that now?!" Jack yelled as he dodged a falling branch. Suddenly everything was still again. Chloe poked her head out from the bush. Max stood up, still hugging the tree. Lily dusted herself off. She glanced at Max. "Let go of the tree." Max shook his head. "There could be aftershocks!" The ground shook one more time, causing Lily and Jack to fall and Chloe to duck back into the bush. Lily stood up again. "See, I told you!" Max said. But he finally let go of the tree. The group reunited and stood looking around. The trail was completely covered. "We're lost!" Chloe wailed.
