This book is full of excellent advice. If you're selling your house, I highly recommend reading this book before you put it on the market. This is very helpful and is a very quick read!
I wanted to get my house ready to sell but I didn’t know how or where to start I was a clueless Seller. This book provided me with the best basics that I have seen in a long time on what to do and how to do it. This book was the best how to book I could find on how to get my home ready for staging. I looked for so long on what needed to be done. I am recommending this book to all of my friends that is going to be selling their homes.
If you are selling your home, this down-to-earth book can help you make the most of the process. It gets right down to business and tells you exactly what you need to do to make the seemingly-impossible process of staging your home a cinch. The best part about the book is that it breaks home staging down into steps you can take little by little as you have time. The money you spend on this book will be a great investment, especially if it means adding thousands of dollars’ worth of value to your home!
This book is very helpful if you’re getting ready to sell your house. The author makes a great point that you don’t want your home to reflect YOUR tastes and preferences, but let the buyer get the impression that it’s going to be THEIR home. This guide explains exactly how to depersonalize your home using several different methods. It’s clear that we’ve got a lot of work to do around here before we’re going to be ready to sell!
This book is great because it tells you exactly what you need to do in order to successfully get your house ready to sell. As a buyer in the past I could always tell when people really put effort into getting their home ready to sell but when it came time for me to do it I had no idea what to do. That’s where this book came in. All of the home staging steps are included from examining your house through the eyes of a potential buyer to home decorating tips. Definitely a must have for selling a house.
This book is filled with common sense, practical advise. I did, however, find myself wishing parts of the book were more fleshed out with details. One area in particular was the use of "color" in the home. This area was skimmed but did not have enough practical information to satisfy most readers. Had it had more detail on how certain colors are more beneficial to others besides mentioning that netral colors are best, it would have been a perfect book. Good solid attention to de- cluttering and de- personalizing ones home. That said, I have found "antique" family photos work well to add warmth especially if they are in sepia tones. It seems sepia encourages nostalgia, something that makes a house a home. This book was informative, helpful and easy to apply...a definite must for homeowers to read before selling their home.
Am I ever glad I read this before I started getting my house ready to sell! My first step is giving each room a fresh coat of paint. But instead of the neutral colors I had chosen, I am following the advice in the book for colors and how to choose them according to the emotions I want to create in prospective buyers. The further I read, the more confident I became that I just might get my house sold fast - even in this troubled economy. Although I have heard of staging, I didn't think it could make such a big difference but now I know that staging appropriately will give me a much better chance of someone choosing to buy it. And once the author explained the need for depersonalizing, I will be following those suggestions as well. While that is going to be one of the hardest parts of this whole process, I think it will be worth it and I really appreciated the tips on ways to make that aspect easier on my family - especially the kids. I am just grateful that I read this before I put a lot of work into preparing to put my house up for sale so I can do it right the first time around.
