From the Publisher

I have been teaching my patients for many years about the benefits of strength training for young athletes and how it is a truly essential part of a total fitness program at any age.  This unique, comprehensive DVD is an enormously helpful and valuable resource to get children safely engaged in home strength training programs.   It is a "must have" for all children who participate in sports as well as for those who are looking to start a fitness program.

Dr. Metzl is a wonderful role model of a true sports medicine expert who practices what he preaches.  The visually appealing and easy to follow videos of young athletes actually performing strength training routines will motivate children of all ages to get started on their own home strength training program.  The tracking worksheets that are included in the DVD will help kids to stay engaged and see their progress.

This DVD does an excellent job of demonstrating proper technique with several tips and guidelines to avoid common pitfalls in a way that is far superior to simply reading yet another book on fitness.  The excellent discussion of basic strength training principles as well as the review of common age and sport specific injuries provides valuable information to families who train at home.

"After I tell parents that strength training is safe and good for their kids, then they want to know how to go about it. Here is a great resource from a trusted source with some simple exercises for kids that can be done at home."
