Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
"This serene book will make an especially nice bedtime lapshare."  —Booklist
Children's Literature - Jamaica Johnson Conner
This book details the different homes of creatures on this planet, including leaves for caterpillars, flowers for butterflies, nests for birds, dormitories for ants and bees, creeks for crabs and fish, and fields for grasshoppers and dragonflies. A concern for the wind and clouds is raised because these elements have no home, "Poor wind has no home, running east to west with no place to rest. Traveling clouds have no home. They are so anxious that their tears flow whenever the sky darkens." The piece concludes detailing the homes of boys and girls and how children have the best home of all. A child interested in nature, science, weather, and members of the animal kingdom will enjoy this piece and the information it provides. The text is poetic and evocative in its simplicity. The vibrant and energetic illustrations couple with a contemporary softness to give an accurate and imaginative portrayal of each home.
