Put an end to nightly homework battles!

Homework Talk! provides parents with simple and practical advice to help them deal with the many issues that can come up surrounding their children's homework. The authors, Cheli Cerra and Ruth Jacoby, have identified fifty-two typical homework situations and provided tips, strategies, and advice for handling each of them. Are you concerned about:

* Motivating your child to handle homework issues on her own?
* Overcoming your child's resistance to doing particular types of homework?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then Homework Talk! is the book you need. Don't wait to start working with your child and your child's teachers to make homework a simple and productive process for everyone.

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Meredith Kiger
This valuable book, written by two educators who are also parents, is a must-read for all parents. In the increasingly complex and changing world of education, homework can be as challenging to parents as it is to students. The authors have featured a user-friendly format to emphasize the importance of homework and the steps to take to facilitate its accomplishment in your home. A brief discussion on the importance of homework is followed by several parent assessments to help each individual household set goals and establish practices. The following five chapters—Why Homework, The Homework State of Mind, No More Homework Hassles, The Homework Contract, and It's All about Homework—use a friendly format that begins with commonly asked questions and succinct answers. Boxed and listed tips are included, making this a great resource for review, and you will need to review in order to keep both parent and child on track. Three appendices include information about learning styles, resources and references, and family activities to increase understanding. This book could save a lot of frustration among parents, students, and the classroom teacher.
