Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly

In Honey Hunt, Volume I, Aihara offers the first installment of a fizzy teenage soap opera about the life of Yura Onozuka. The mousey daughter of a famed composer and a glamorous actress, Yura's life is turned upside down when her parents' divorce becomes a tabloid sensation. Feeling betrayed, Yura decides to become an actress herself, believing achieving fame will be the ultimate revenge on her parents. A mysterious, and possibly nefarious, agent helps her chase the dream, and she soon wins the lead role on a TV show. Along the way, Aihara (Hot Gimmick) offers hints at a future romantic triangle (an Aihara staple) involving Yura, Q-Ta Minamitani, a heartthrob composer, and his more menacing twin brother, Haruka Minamitani, an actor and musician. There are ceaseless twists and turns on Yura's journey, including a public meltdown and a betrayal by her mother. Throughout, Aihara's delicate artwork vibrantly illustrates Yura's constantly fluctuating emotional life, especially her moments of panic, confusion and self-doubt. The difference between the depiction of the goofy and sometimes dowdy Yura and her glamorous mother and the sleek Minamitani brothers makes her self-image clear. (Apr.)

    Lame

The works of this mangaka suck. The characters are all despicable, and the plots are trite and debased.

    I love this series!

I recieve the Shojo Beat every month in the mail and starting in September of 2008, they started publishing "Honey Hunt." I read it and I've gotten addicted! I look forward to every magazine, every month, so I can see what happens next. It's a great story and the love that lingers around Yura.. mmm :] It's so happy. I suggest that everybody reads it if they like drama/ love stories.

    Cute series

This is a very cute series, but be warned the series went on hiatus in 2009. So, after volume 6 no more. At least till the manga-ka decides to write more, and doubtful since so much time has past.

    Honey Hunt

Miki Aihara has never let me down with her books. I loved it all the way to the last page and I can't wait for the next volume to come out. If you like Hot Gimmick, you will love this series as well.
