    Third straight classic album

Its hard to imagine now just how astonishingly good the albums were that John/Taupin were making at this time and how amazed the fans were in the seventies in hearing one masterpiece after another being delivered by these guys. For awhile the radio seemed to have been taken over by Elton John and, for a while, we didnt mind at all.

    Classic Elton

This is a gem filled necessity for any true Elton John fan. Though 2 of his "hits" are included - Rocket Man, and Honky Cat - this album is so much more. You will be tapping your toes to "I Think I'm Gonna Kill Myself", which sounds absurd, but true! "Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters" is a gorgeous, haunting tune - lyrically rich and musically melancholy. This is one of my favorite Elton albums and it has held up through the years - I still listen to it frequently, and am always glad I did. Recommended highly!

    Lovely Album!

From the bouncy piano playing of "Honky Cat" to the beautiful mandolin on "Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters," "Honky Chateau" marks Elton John's transition from an amateur to true popstar. This album is lovely.
