This is good if you are looking to improve self-esteem and self-respect.

The author explains how it is necessary to have a strong sense of self and a healthy ego (yes, ego) to become a balanced human being. Two much used affirmations I got from this book are: "I have the right to exist. I have the right to be happy."

    Interesting Book

Nathaniel Branden states that we must get in touch with the inner child in all of us--the voice denied. The child in all of us who set the framework through observations and conclusions--right or wrong-- which ultimately inflence all of our future estimations about life and how we fit in it. We must embrace that inner child...find the conflicts and accept that part of us all which is most forgotten, but which is the most important person of all--the one who had the first view of the world...

    Wonderfully inspiring!

Oh, where do I start... Life has so many layers and we are so blind to most of them as long as we refuse to see through those layers on the surface. The surface looks so attractive, exciting, and fun, and it makes us greedy, it makes us critical, it makes us feel temporarily important and powerful, it makes us buy many things we don't really need... It all looks so exciting and beautiful that it convinces many of us that we don't need to look further inside. But once we learn to see what is inside, all of that seems empty, meaningless, and nothing more than a temporary escape from the emptiness we are actually feeling. The deeper we learn to see inside ourselves, the more we clearly begin seeing what is truly important, what is truly meaningful. This book allowed me start this learning process. Needless to say, it is truly a wonderful thing! This book and this one other brilliant book called the 'Ever-Transcending Spirit' by Toru Sato explains this in such a excellent way that I cannot say enough about them. All I can say is, if you are ready to look deeper, it is time you pick up these books. Good luck!
