    BOOK OF THE YEAR!!!

AFTER READING PART I, I WAS SCARED TO READ PART II JUST BECAUSE I DIDN'T THINK THE AUTHOR WOULD BE ABLE TO TOP SUCH AN ORIGINAL STORY BUT I HAVE TO GIVE PROPS WHERE THEY ARE DUE. PART II WAS AMAZING! I DON'T LIKE READING STORIES THAT DRAW OUT SO MUCH DETAILS THAT IT TAKE AWAY FROM THE STORY BUT THIS BOOK NEVER GAVE A DULL DETAIL, IT GAVE JUST ENOUGH OF EVERY INGREDIANT. KUDOS TO MY NEW FAVORITE AUTHOR, CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK!

The Princess of Urban Lit Returns!

Author LaShonda DeVaughn's second installment of, "A Hood Chick's Story" continues the story of Tiara James. Tiara James is a beautiful, hood princess who has grown up fast beyond her years based on her environment. It is now three years later, and Tiara has had her share of drama. Tiara is now an adult, engaged, and a parent of a beautiful little girl, Shayonna. Her boyfriend, Tony is out of prison, and as the story opens, life seems to be treating Tiara, her daughter and Tony well. Don't get too settled - as we know, life is not always as it seems. Confusion and drama slowly enters Tiara's life again and she is forced to make decisions for herself and her child. Many of the previous characters from Part I will be reintroduced in Part II, along with a few new characters, namely a new nemesis of Tiara's who is ultimately and shockingly connected to an old enemy. The Princess of urban lit has returned and has successfully written another book that is convincingly as good as her first installment. I am looking forward to the next installment of this series and other books by the author! Review: 4.5 out of 5 Beignets Reviewed by: Sonya Books and Beignets (BAB) Book Club
