Wait 'til you see the beautiful updated projects! You will want to have your hook and yarn all ready to go. The great news is that some of the patterns are simple enough for someone who is just starting out, yet they are creative enough to make you look like a pro. I began crocheting two years ago and was able to easily complete the simpler projects and have worked my way up to some of the more difficult ones. There are really quick projects (chokers and scarves) and ones that take awhile (skirt and sweaters)Pattern explanation is thorough. There is a section that explains different hooks and yarns, tells you what you'll need for a 'crochet bag' and includes 20 projects. I think the illusrations teaching the crocheting process are the best visuals of any of the books I've looked at. This is a favorite on my crochet book shelf.
