Overview

Directed by Tim Hill, who helmed the 2007 reboot of Alvin and the Chipmunks, 2011's Hop follows the adventures of the Easter Bunny's rebellious teenage son (voiced by Russell Brand) who goes to Hollywood to become a rock & roll drummer. Composer Christopher Lennertz (Marmaduke, Meet the Spartans) provides the animated film with a magical, appropriately pastoral score, which weaves in elements of classical and world music throughout its 35-track runtime. "Prologue / Easter Island" sets the tone with a vaguely Celtic motif that's reminiscent of Howard Shore's "Hobbit Theme" from the Lord of the Rings trilogy, before introducing a more modern feel that relies on the increasingly percussive nature of its protagonist.
