Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
A group of five bunnies shading from pure white to dark brown are romping in the grass. They seem to be playing tag, then they leap, scratch, wiggle their whiskers, and twitch their noses. Suddenly one is all alert—he hears something. What can it be? No time to find out as the bunnies quickly race to find a hole to hide in. Not long after, they are out again and these hungry bunnies find some delicious clover for lunch. Meade's illustrations are deceptively simple. The bunnies do seem expressive both in their faces and in the way their bodies are positioned in a scene. What fun for young ones to pretend that they are bunnies hopping, thumping, and jumping. An easy and successful transition from picture to board book format. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
