Overview

Hope Jones has two problems: one is new, the other is depressingly old.

The new problem: the bestselling author the publisher she shoots romance novel covers for hates her newest batch of covers. She has until the end of the week to come up with a breathtaking shot or she’ll be replaced. And there’s a sudden model shortage; they’re out of season.

The old, depressing problem: she hasn’t had a date, sex or a relationship in over two years.

She also has one hell of a headache.

Hope finds the cures for her two problems during a search through Wal-Mart for a painkiller to kill her headache.

Turns out the aisles of the retail giant are rampant with hot young model worthy specimens. And when her trusty Ford Taurus breaks down in the parking lot, a hunky mechanic in the Tire and Lube Express department fixes more than just her car.

Seemingly her troubles are good as gone…but then her new, fabulous cover is rejected, and in a desperate moment she has to choose between keeping her job and keeping the man she’s just starting to fall in love with.

35,000 Word Novella.

Meet the Author

Let me introduce myself. I'm forty—which isn't as bad as I thought it would be. I live to read and love to write. I love romance, comedy, brooding and sparkly vampires, and I love pizza. I have a dog named Jack, and I work somewhere I have to wear a blue top and brown pants (you can probably guess).I've just written my first romance. Erotic, funny, about 35,000 words, so it's a novella, and hopefully a good one. I'm working to get it reviewed while I write the second part. I'm planning on having three 30,000 words novellas in the series.Hope BreaksHope EntanglesHope RisesWish me luck.

Hope is adrift in life. She’s having a hard time finding her direction in life, and little does she know that a trip to the local Wal-Mart may very well change her life! Going to add a bit of humor here, I cannot tell you how beautifully Alice describes the actual experience of going to Wal-Mart. The sights, the smells, the people...its so spot on and just delightful, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Anyway, back to Hope’s life. With a broken down car, Hope meets Jake, a handsome car repairman who knew her when she was in school. An almost instant attraction occurs between the two. Jake sees something in Hope she almost doesn't see herself, which was an awakening of sorts.

ake and Hope just click, but a big misunderstanding tear them apart. You can almost bet there will be a sequel because the ending is left WIDE open and boy do I want a sequel. Jake was so different from Hope, funny, loving and just plain open. I thought they fit together and when I read the last page, I just wanted to scream for more. A fantastic story about two opposites coming together and finding “hope” in one another. Can’t wait to see what comes next for Hope and Jake!

I loved this book and recommend it wholeheartedly. It was funny

I loved this book and recommend it wholeheartedly. It was funny & surprisingly touching. I could really relate to Hope, at many levels. I
laughed, sighed, panted, hoped & was surprised a few times. I sincerely cared about the characters more deeply than I expected from
    a novella. That's a sign of a good book & author.

There were references to Hope's past and many questions left unanswered in this book. I did NOT want it to end and was disappointed
when it did. I wanted answers. I wanted to see what happens next. I wasn't ready to leave Hope's world. After I read the book, I saw that
this is going to be a series. I want to read the rest of it!

SPOILER ALERT: I REALLY wanted a HEA! I'd become attached to the main characters & wanted their happiness. I thought they were so
great together. I also thought of different ways Hope could have handled things so they could've turned out differently.

Initially, I liked that there was an ethical conflict. I tend to love moral and ethical dilemmas (when they are not in my life). BUT I wished
Hope would've handled the situation differently.

    Bad

Really hate these plot spoilers that brag how they got their book for free for their 'honest' review. Its not an honest review! Not when you give a 5star review! Besides, by spoiling the book, which by the way, every one else has to pay for, it ruins it for the rest if us. So next time, keep the long reviews to yourself, no one cares that you got your book for free. Stop bragging. It belittles yourself.

Goodd Good book short read 105 pages

Hopefully there is another book coming because there are to many cliffhangers. The author starts off with the story but gives you little taster to the main charactors past. She ended the book to soon and left readers hanging

There really needs to be a next book to make this story worthwhile. There are so many things that the author started and didn't finish. Most of all the abrupt ending. It needed to wind down better. Also the author told readers that Hope had trouble with boys, not who or why, ao why put it in there at all. She also hinted that Hope should remember Jake not that we know why. My advice is to make sure there's another book before buying this.

I received this as a free ARC in exchange for a honest review. I will say I really like this book, until the end. I don't want to ruin it by saying what happens, but I will say that I was disappointed. I'm hoping that Alice Bello plans on writing another book after this trying to fix things. I loved Jake, he was one of those down to earth, easy going, and dangerously sexy. If Alice decides to write another story on Jake and Hope, I will be picking that book up for sure.
