How Strong is Hope?

What happens to your hope when life takes a sudden, unwanted turn? You walk around a corner and find yourself face-to-face with a personal crisis… the passing of a loved one… the ache of loneliness… the worry over a stormy marriage… the agony of a son or daughter who has chosen a destructive path.

The Bible tells us of a hope that will see us through the darkest of valleys and sustain us in the driest of deserts. And beyond the practical help God offers for every situation in this life, He points us toward the ultimate hope of eternal life in heaven and the unfailing encouragement of our Lord's any-moment return.

Greg Laurie is the pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, California, one of the largest churches in the United States. He is the author of over forty books, including As I See It, Hope for Hurting Hearts, Why, God?, God's Design for Christian Dating, For Every Season, and his autobiography Lost Boy. You can also find his study notes in the Start! Bible.

Host of the nationally syndicated radio program A New Beginning, Greg Laurie is also the founder and featured speaker for Harvest Crusades-contemporary, large-scale evangelistic outreaches that local churches organize nationally and internationally-which have reached over four million people in attendance.

He and his wife, Cathe, live in Southern California.
