Overview

Gabby's brain is like a human fish finder. It comes in handy when she wants to avoid people. Mostly men. They seem to like her a bit too much. It's lonely being different, but she's adapted to it. Really. She just wishes she knew why she is different, though.

In her search for answers, she discovers a hidden community of werewolves. She immerses herself in their culture, learning about their world until she meets Clay. He's unkempt, prone to mood swings, intense without saying a word, and he thinks Gabby is his.

It's going to take every trick she knows to convince Clay to go away, and every bit of willpower not to fall for him when she discovers the man beneath the rough exterior.

I would highly recommend this series for anyone that loves a great read that has suspense, action, and romance. And it is really great that there is an author that can write fantastic books without all the graphic sex. Melissa makes you fall for the characters and keeps you interested. I have all three of this series and I can't wait for the rest of them to come out.

I was sent “Hope(less)” for review. I started reading this book about a month ago. I read to about chapter four and then just set it aside, until last night. I finally picked it back up and guess what???? I finished it in a matter of hours. I found myself really drawn into the story. Melissa has written a shifter story unlike anything I’ve read before. Gabby’s character is stubborn and wants only to make her own decisions in life and understand her weird gift. I was as confused by her gift of sight as much as she was. The most unique thing about the story was Clay’s character. He spends most of his time in dog form and when he’s human he doesn’t say a word. So how in the world do he and Gabby have a relationship?? You’ll just have to read to find out. I will say, no their relationship isn’t all sexual. In fact, there is no sex in this story at all yet I felt the strong chemistry between Gabby and Clay. I wish once Clay started actually talking to Gabby that I would have gotten to experience more of that aspect. I’m also not real clear on the series title, ‘Judgment of the Six’. Hopefully it becomes clearer to me in further books. I also hope Clay and Gabby are featured in the nest books so I can get a peek at their continued life together. I give “Hope(less)” 5/5 stars. Once I started reading, I couldn’t put it down.

Do NOT let the cover fool you! The cover for this book is NOT a good representation of this book AT ALL! It was a free book that I thought "what the heck, give it a try. It's free." I am SO glad I did! The characters are amazing. The depth and story line keep you guessing, and just when you think you know where it is going...BOOM it goes somewhere else. LOL I love it! I am about to start the second one and hope it is as good as the first. The only thing that I could say even semi negative is the leading lady is a little whiny to me sometimes. I wish she would just get over herself and do what needs to be done. There...that is the only "plot reveler" I am giving. Def worth the read though.

I really enjoyed the story. It was unique and original. I really like the main characters as all were likable. It was an easy read as I read it all in one sitting. I highly recommend it, unlike most werewolf stories are erotic are very sexual this one isn't and I liked that about. Looking forward to the rest of the six series.

I have to say it was a really good book.  Cute, made me chuckle which in turn had people looking at me funny. Oh well.  I even had to tell my husband about the book that I read instead of cooking him dinner.  I feel it takes a creative person to avoid the curse words or the very, sometimes very, graphic sex scenes/ relationship and leaves something to the imagination.

This was a really fantastic book. Unique and different than most, especially in the werewolf department. It has left me happy, satisfied and naturally curious, of course. An intriguing, awesome read that's most definitely recommended.

I very much enjoyed this book. So much so that I read it, purchased the following two books, and read them as well within three days. I found it hard to put the books down and I'm eagerly waiting for the next two to be released. I like the innovation of this author and hope more series are coming

A good read but kind of slow. Appropriate for all ages as well.

I'm going to try and finish reading this, but are we going to ignore the fact that the majority of the book focuses on the building chemistry between the main character and a dog?! I love my dog, but this is a little ridiculous.

This book would be interesting for a teenager, but as an adult I did not like it.

I loveed how different this book is compared to your typically paranormal romance novels!  I finished this book in two days because I couldn't put it down!   I love how Clay secretly blends into Gabby and Rachel's life!  I couldn't stop smiling as their relationships builds.  I can't wait to read the next book!

Gabby has been different all her life. She sees sparks were people are and men can't seem to resist her. She doesn't know why she is the way she is. She meets Sam one night and learns she isn't the only one who is different. Sam is a werewolf and Gabby is very special to the werewolves. Sam takes over raising her and she begins trips to meet the others. While all she wants is to go to college. Just when she thinks she will get away she meets Clay. She knows they have a connection but fights it. Going against everyone's wishes she goes onto college. She is soon followed by Clay but he doesn't bother her to bad. After all he never speaks. She soon begins to get visits from a different werewolves and see unusual spots. Not the type she is used to like humans and the weres she knows have. As she searches for answers about why she is different she comes to depend on Clay to help her. The new weres don't want to take no for an answer. Gabby is not what I expected. I figured anyone who draws all men in would be conceited but she is not. All she wants is to be left alone from them and hates having that power. She likes spending time alone. She also is very stubborn and likes to do things her way. She is really fantastic. Clay for most of the book I wasn't sure what to think of him. After all I only had his actions to go as he would not speak. However I learned to love him. He is quiet but will do whatever he has to to protect Gabby and tries to give her time. He can also be very sweet and he is smart despite what people think of him. I had my eye on this book for a while and when I got the chance to read it I was thrilled. It was different from what I was expecting but that is a good thing. I loved it. It is different in a way that when you think nothing can be new anymore it is. I really enjoyed getting to know all the characters and the story is great. This is a very easy book to read as you don't want to put it down. I had to make myself go to bed and finish it the next day. The author did a great job especially with Clay. You really get to know the real him when you think you wouldn't be able to. I think if Gabby doesn't want him I'll take him. I think this book really sets up the start to this series and I can not wait to read more. If you like books with weres, paranormal books, or just a great book give this one a try. I can't wait to see what happens next even if I know I will be up all night reading it.

This is my first Melissa Haag book, but will not be my last. It has been in my queue of to reads for a really long time because I was unsure if I wanted to invest my time. I am glad that I finally chose to dive in. Melissa puts a unique twist on the werewolf mating thing. There was a lot of relationship building that I felt was necessary in order for the reader to see Clay's genius. I felt like I was watching a serial show rather than reading a serial book. I also liked the absence of sex, and I think the way the author chose to display the sexual tension in Clay and Gabby was subtly brillant. I felt this story was well thought out and flowed nicely. It has a steady pace and did not seem to linger too long on details. The characters worked well together. I highly enjoyed this read. You do get closure, kind of, but the ending had me reeling. There are still questions that I have no answers for, so hopefully the next book will address them. I could easily read this again.

It was irritating. I read it all but it's not something I'd read again nor recommend. The plot just didn't work. It was like a hassle and you read it in hope that something substantial would happen.

Love this book! The first book in the Judgement of the Six series. I was hooked from the beginning. Completely recomment!

I loved that this was focused on her wants and needs. Most werewolf stories are all about the man wanting the women so much and claiming her cause they are Alphas and all-male. Gabby is a true heroine... a real person trying to get ahead in life and fulfilling her goals... Clay is an amazing man who puts her needs first. Read it!!
