My granddaughter plays soccer herself and was thrilled to see Hope Solo as goalee in the Olympics. We shared viewing of the Canada/USA game with grandpa. The game with Japan was an event for her team. I'm always on the lookout for books that she wants to read and when she announced that she wanted to read this book, I rushed to buy it. I was thrilled to find a young readers version and she immediately started reading it once I handed it to her. She remembers to take it to school and is really enjoying every word. Our children need heros like this down to earth, hard working young woman.

I really love this book!!!! I am usually a realistic fiction or fiction reader but this was one of the best books ever. I expierienced what she did. I laughed with her, cried, and felt rewarded when she took gold. What i learned was to never give up and that if you truely believe in yourself, you can acieve anything.

I love hope solo she inspires me. My whole family is involved in soccer. Me and my siblings play my dad coaches and my mom drives and supports us and when we dont have games we watch it on tv. Hope solo is the best goalie i know of. One of my favorite positions in soccer is goallie. I have watched her since i was 3 or 4 and she has always been the best and i reccamond this book to all, especially if you love soccer and goalie. Hope solo has been through rough times but still thrives i know this from reading this wonderfull autobiography. She has had many injuries but kept going and that helps me. Like last week i spranged my thumb in goalie and i felt like crying, but do you know wht i wanted to do more i wanted to play so i wiped thoughs tears off and said im gonna be a badas* as my dad would say and kick some booty!!! I highly recomend this book---?ellie13 Thank you for reading alex morgan and megan repino also rock!!!

Hope Solo: My Story Boom! Hope’s glove just blocked the ball from going into the net making the win for the U.S. This amazing autobiography of Hope Solo, who is the goalkeeper for the Women’s U.S.A. soccer team, tells about her rough life as a girl and how it has made her the person she is today. The plot tells about Hope Solo whose parents had to get a divorce when she was young, because of her dad being dishonest, and having to grow up the rest of her childhood without her dad, who was the only one she felt like, understood her. She had to face many hard obstacles in her life, but she got through them along with the help of her mom, dad, her brother Marcus, her grandparents, her soccer coaches, and her soccer teammates. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who plays soccer or likes to watch it. It is a very relatable, realistic, and exciting book. Brooke R

Hope solo is the definition of a true athlete, playing for something more than herself, her team, and her country. Hope continues to amaze her fans overcoming adversity such as, Death in her family and criticism about her self-absorbed attitude. However, still early in her career she has distinguished herself as one of the prestige women soccer goalies, winning two Olympic gold medals, and cover page on well known magazines, Sports illustrated and ESPN the magazine. I recommend reading this book, because it is not just another memoir you pick up read and put down when your done, and you receive no reward for reading it; This book is a touching story about a young girl, living many years ahead of her age, having to deal with the everyday struggles of having the professional spot light on her, while balancing her Social life, soccer, and family. This book is a good read for any amateur athlete with a dream of making it big no matter what sport you play. READ THIS BOOK!! you wont be disappointed.
