The star is not for the writing.  I have no problem with the writing.  It is hard to read this book because of the blatant typo on every page of the Nook edition.  If I were the publisher. I would be embarrassed that the title on every page reads "Hoep to Die".  If I were James Patterson, I would be mad at the publisher.  Isn't that what spell check is for?  Hopefully, I can ignore the typo while I read.

Hope to Die is the absolute best book James Patterson has ever written.  I am a fan of the entire Alex Cross series, however this one pulls out all stops.  Action filled from beginning to end,, I could not put Hope to Die and  just had to finish the very first day it was released!  While reading this book, James Patterson had me questioning things but never Alex himself.
This book is a MUST READ for any thriller fan.  Please be sure to read Cross My Heart first to reap the full benefits of Hope to Die.
I only have one question for James Patterson....when will the next Alex Cross novel be released?

    Happy Booker

Why is no one mentioning the tease ending of the last Alex Cross book? I recall many readers saying they would never buy another and that they felt exploited. Most novels have a resolution. I can't help wondering how this book will end. Another trick?

The first part of the book seemed as though someone other than Patterson wrote it... it was a different style and frankly not that well done - some of the sentences and the key points were confusing. I looked for a co-author and couldn't find one, so who knows. Overall though, I enjoyed the book but it's not one of the best in the series.

    Good book, not great.

I am usually a big James Patterson fan, especially the Alex Cross series. This book doesn't seem to fit his usual writing style. The first quarter of the book seems like it was written by someone else, but no other author is credited. There's a serious lack of style in the beginning, almost as though it was written by a high school student. The rest of the book lives up to Patterson's usual style for the most part. Was there a new editor or maybe a rush to meet a publishing deadline for this book?
The book is a bit far-fetched and it leaves some serious questions for the reader since there are many loose ends which should have been addressed.
James Patterson has been my favorite author for a while. Now...I'm not so sure.

Highly Recommended - One of the best Alex Cross Books

If you are not hooked on Alex Cross this book will get you there. I have been a fan for a long time and couldn't wait for this book to be released, the last book left you hanging... It was worth the wait. Fast paced and kept you guessing until the end. Loved it!

Great read. A page turner, thrilling to the last page, read it over the TG weekend. BUT, did I miss the page on the motive? Why? All this brutality for a bad book review. When I look back, I just didn't get it, or I was asleep somewhere along the way?! You decide.
