    Must read

The entire series was great. I became part of the entire family and finishing the series is like saying good bye to my friends and family. Very well writen. You will experience many emotions during the series and that is important for good writing. I know you will enjoy the ride.

    Good, but

This is not my genre and there were a couple of grammar/ spelling errors. Ditto for 2nd Chapter.

    Hopeless- Chapter 1

I started walking toward my first hour, band. When I got there I was the only one, all the lights shut off, no teacher, no one but me and the instruments. I sighed first day of 10th grade and still the first one to my class. Deciding not to turn on the lights I start walking towards the locker with the trumpets. 'Might as well get some practice,' I thought to myself. I grabbed the case that said Emma on it. Since I'm the only girl in the trumpet section I might as well be one of the top 3 trumpets, there were only 8 others besides me. I got my phone out and checked the time; 7:46, 19 minutes early. I used my phone as a flashlight. 'I'm just a hopeless nerd,' I thought. I pulled my music and trumpet out and began to play. It wasn't until someone clapped as I finished, that I knew I wasn't alone. I turned to see who else was in the room. As my eyes strained in the dark I saw it was Sam. I felt myself blush slightly, glad that I hadn't turned the lights on. I had a major crush on Sam since the 8th grade. I never asked him because I didn't know if he liked me or not and because things would be complicated in band if we broke up, because he sits right next to me. "Hey," I say softly, watching as he got his trumpet out. He walked over, "Hey, that was some good practicing," he said as he pulled his trumpet out, "but you'll never be better then me," he said jokingly. I knew he was joking because he always said that in band to get me to play louder, every time he did we would get louder until the band teacher would yell at us and we would both smile. I checked my phone again 7:52. I blasted out a high A in his direction and smiled. "Hey!" He said and smiled. "You're a bit early to band, aren't you?" I asked courius as to why he was here so early, he usually came into class just as the teacher called his name for roll-call, which was right after mine. "I figured I would start to be a little early to class, like you," he replied. "I don't try to be early, it just happens," I said softly, 'because I don't have any friends because I'm a hopeless person and everyone knows that,' I added in my head. (Please leave comments on how I can improve)
