Children's Literature
This title is part of the "Kids Can Do It" series. Terrific unique projects will entice horse fans to get out their white glue and cardboard and get started. Projects include a clever paddock mirror, a sunset lampshade with collage tissue tones and silhouette horses, a clipboard with horsey-faced clothespins as the clips, a keepsake box, and bronco bookends. While the projects are easy to follow, there is plenty of room for creativity, personalizing, or display. A "you will need" box itemizes easily found things to gather: embroidery floss, fiberfill stuffing, a sheet of gift wrap, etc. Opening pages explain how to cut and score, how to mix white glue used to make collage art, and demos for three kinds of stitches. This is perfect for riding camps during down-time, for horse nuts of either sex, or for a dreamer who imagines riding across the prairie wearing a handmade scrunchy ponytail holder that perfectly matches the horse's brow band. 2006, Kids Can Press, Ages 8 to 12.
