About the Author

Dana Damron convinced his parents, at the age of fifteen, after countless pleadings, to purchase an old quarter horse for $100. She was a wonderful, gentle old horse, but sadly she only lived for another year. It would be twenty long years before he finally got his second horse.
Loving the rugged, natural beauty of the mountains, Dana moved to the West, where he began the long, arduous process of becoming a physician. With a career as challenging as it was rewarding, he looked to his childhood love of horses for relaxation. The simple pleasure of riding a good horse in beautiful country led to many wonderful journeys that offered an unparalleled connection to animal and nature. To this day, horseback riding in these two stunning national parks remains his greatest passion.
