Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
Professional interior and architectural photographer Jordan (Charles Faudree Interiors) visits the homes of those involved in horse-related activities—such as racing, dressage, and polo. Photographs of residential interiors and exteriors fill the pages with particular attention devoted to the decorative accessories that the inhabitants use to incorporate their love of horses into their decor.
School Library Journal
Adult/High School—This is the ultimate coffee table book for horse lovers with a flair for or interest in interior design. "All things horses" adorn these pages from Breyer horses to Remington sculptures. In beautifully photographed chapters, there is brief information about various types of riding including hunting, show jumping, racing, polo, dressage, driving, and saddlebreds. There are detailed photos of riders' hands and a horse's intricately braided tail. The interiors and some exteriors of the featured homes emphasize an elegant, privileged, but comfortable, milieu. Equine touches include books, prints, paintings, sculptures, ribbons, photos, and fabrics. One of the quirkier objects is a pair of riding boots as an umbrella holder. On the extravagant side, a girl and her pony have their own playhouse. The love of these animals is reflected in the mementos and images with which the homeowners surround themselves. As the author comments, "your favorite things are what make a house a home." Famous quotes about horses throughout the book further complement this visual celebration of a creature that has captured the hearts and imagination of humans throughout time.—Carol Schene, formerly at Taunton Public Schools, MA

Horses belong in nature, and what better way for them to be incorporated into décor than in outdoor rooms, gardens, and exteriors. Stone and metal sculptures that peek out of beautifully planted cottage-style gardens add elegance and style to an otherwise simple landscape. Outdoor sitting areas, casual or elegant, benefit from classic equestrian statuary and plaques that garden visitors can enjoy while sipping their morning coffee or relaxing in the afternoon shade.

    Prayer

A beautiful palomino saddlebred mare cantered in. She danced onher hooves as she came to a stop. Her movements were nimble and supple with an enchanting grace. She has dark eyes like amber caramel. She has one sock and a skinny stripe on her face. She has a long tail and a short mane, both the color of white gold. Her name is Prayer. She nickers softly, and dips her graceful head towards Fly. Can she join the herd?
