Praise for The Horses We Love, The Lessons We Learn

"Tena's real-life stories are modern-day parables for the lessons horses have to teach us: Learn from your mistakes, trust your instincts and, above all, have fun. Some stories made me laugh out loud as I recalled being in similar predicaments. Others touched an emotional chord and made me cry. I came away from them longing to be in the nurturing presence of horses, soaking up all they have to offer—and always becoming a better...

Meet the Author

Tena Bastian is known both as a Western poet and as an equestrian professional. After a tornado destroyed her family home, Tena got the chance to ride a broken-down, blind horse named Dewey; that experience inspired a love of horses that shaped her life and inspired this book. Tena has presented seminars at equine expositions across the United States and been a featured speaker on The Horse Show with Rick Lamb and Pet Talk Radio. She and her husband own and stand their three-time World Qualifying Stallion, This Beau's Eligible, on their ranch in Ohio. Tena also authored Tips and Tidbits for the Horse Lover (Howell Book House).

    The real perspective

It was incredible. I got this book during a very difficult time in my life. I had to put down one of my horses. It touched me so deeply I couldn't put it down. I finished it and within a week had picked it back up and started through it again. Now I know I am not crazy. Someone else has the same connection and takes much more from their relationship with their horse than just the ability to ride. BRAVO!!!
