I really enjoyed this book. Normally, i stay away from any "second chance" stories because there is always so much bitterness involved. But i gave this one a chance because it was written by Bella Andre. I'm glad i did. Yes, there was bitterness but it was cleared up fairly quickly. The chemistry was great between the two leads and Sam was absolutely YUM.

Ok, so Bella Andre is my favorite adult romance author to date. I worship her Game trilogy, but had a hard time with this story. The love was great and the story started out hot as sin for sure, but the twisted story wasn't my fav. Still hot writing and great romance but after reading her Game books (Game for Anything, Game for Seduction and Game for Love) nothing really compares. :)

THEY’RE LIVING LIFE TO THE EXTREME…AND BURNING UP THE COLD MOUNTAIN NIGHTS
"Only total desperation could reunite Dianna Kelley with Sam MacKenzie, the irresistible bad boy she walked out on ten years ago. But the fearless firefighter with the awesome wilderness skills is the only one who can take her where she needs to go. It’s a gamble—tracking down her endangered sister while keeping Sam and their undeniable attraction at arm’s length. Not easy when they’re trekking into a remote corner of the Rockies, where she’s got to trust her former lover with her life.
Despite their past, Sam never could refuse a damsel in distress, especially one who has haunted his dreams for years. He’ll help find her sister and get Dianna out of his system once and for all. But soon it’s hard to tell whether the greatest threat is from the rushing rapids, the deadly enemy on their trail, or the passion that’s sending them straight into the line of fire…."

What I especially enjoyed from this novel....it was a well written and steamy romantic with some suspense with this firefighter Sam MacKenzie and television host Dianna Kelley along with her out of control sister April. This author does a very good job at bringing this story it all out to the readers. Will Dianna except this second chance at love in this fiery relationship? What will happen to Dianna's sister April? I loved how this author was able to give the reader a story with an interesting plot that does come together in the end and definitely will keep your attention till the end. You will be definitely left saying wow in the end.

Overall rating: 4.5 Rockin’ ¿¿¿¿¿
Sam’s brother tells him that his former fiance Dianna has been in a head on accident. After ten years Sam is still grieving the loss of their child and Dianna leaving him. But he cannot stop himself from going to her to help if she needs him.
“When she dumped your ass and moved to San Francisco you fell apart. I never thought I’d see the day you’d skip out on you job. The job you used to love. But there you were, glued to the bar stool when you should have been out fighting fires.”
Dianna cannot believe Sam came for her to offer his help. He is the man she has loved since the moment they met. Maybe it’s time to look at the past and what happened between them. Questions need to be answered for both of them about what went wrong.
“How do you always manage to be here right when I need you?”
Unknown to Dianna her sister has been kidnapped by the brother of the man that was killed in the same accident she was in. The man blames her for his death and decides to kill her sister in front of her and then kill her. Sam steps in to help. He swears that he will help her get her sister back.
“God help me, Dianna, I still want you. More than ever. More than I should.”
You fought for your sister. You fought for your career. Maybe this time you should fight for Sam.
During the race to save her sister from a madman, Dianna and Sam discover that true love never dies. The embers just need to be stoked! Sam is just the firefighter to do it.
Was he willing to risk everything for the woman he’d never stopped loving?
“I love you, too,” he said. “I never stopped loving you, Dianna. I just tried to convince myself that I had.”
Patience will be rewarded with the gift of true love and a second chance for happiness.
"It’s not about being saved, it’s about knowing there’s someone out there who will always have your back no matter what.”

I loved this book. It was a great read, and I couldn't put it down. Something about a bad boy being brought to his knees, just works for me ;o) I can't wait for more books by Ms. Andre, she writes a love scene that will start its own fires. Was this review helpful? This was a great read. It kept my interest and I read it in a day.
Sam and Dianna are teenage "first loves." Things happen and the end up apart. Sam is a "hotshot" fireman, and sexy as hell.
Ten years later, Dianna is in an accident in Colorado, and Sam hears about it. Still loving her, he goes to CO to make sure she is ok. It is love at first site again for both of them.
Dianna's sister is kidnapped and Sam helps Dianna find her while they discover love all over again between them while they deal with their past.
It is a very touching story and written well.
I very much enjoyed Bella Andre's first Hot Shots book - it was a nice surprise to find a book in this genre that was more than just hundreds of pages about washboard abs - and this follow-up is just as much fun as the first.
I very much loved the two leads in this story. The premise for the relationship - they were engaged very young when Dianna became pregnant, and then their relationship fell apart when a car accident led to a miscarriage - was emotional and interesting. It was such a pleasure to watch Dianna and Sam find each other again ten years later and realise how much they had matured in that time, finally seeing the mistakes they made. Dianna was a wonderful, admirable woman, and Sam was the kind of man any woman would want to be with.
This was such a satisfying read. As with the first book in the series this is a multi-layered story with many interesting, flawed characters.
For me, one star is lost because a large portion of the story was a bit of a wild goose chase, and I found that disappointing. Though it gave the leads plenty of time to heal their relationship, it did nothing to help them achieve their goal - find Dianna's missing sister. I would have liked to have seen all the pieces tie up better at the end. I would also have been nice to have seen the Hot Shot (fire-fighting) aspect play a bigger part in the story, as it did in the first book.
But all in all, I loved this book very much. Wild Heat was a pleasant surprise, and its follow-up Hot As Sin was just as good.

In a small Vail, Colorado café, television host Dianna Kelley meets her sister April who left home because her sibling was controlling and overprotective. Dianna wanted to make up for the years April was in foster care but she could not connect with her when April informs her she lives in a commune. Dianna explodes and April leaves; Diana drinks before driving and gets into an accident in which she is injured and the other driver dead.
In the Sierra Nevada range, firefighter Sam MacKenzie learns of Dianna's injuries. Although a decade has passed since she miscarried and left him, he runs to her side. When they meet again, the sparks that remained simmering for years ignites into a passionate firestorm. However both remain wary of being hurt so each hides their deep feelings from the other. Dianna learns April was kidnapped by someone seeking revenge. Sam swears he will rescue her sister, but Dianna insists on accompanying him on the arduous trek into the Sierras. On the dangerous journey, they realize not just how much love they share, but rejoice in revealing how much love they have for one another. However finding and rescuing April and surviving remain the goal.
Bella Andre has written a heated second chance at love romantic suspense starring a hotshot firefighter and a TV talk show host; each brings fear to their fiery relationship. April adds to the mix as a gutsy individual not waiting to be rescued. She makes the tale's thriller elements work with her courage and fortitude. Readers will relish this fine tale as April has choices to make and one wrong one could lead to her death.
