Ryan, the sexy heartbreaker of Station One, is determined to rejoin the force. Tending bar in the meantime seems like the perfect idea, especially when it means he can spend his nights working next to his sultry new boss . . . if only the bar didn't keep catching fire.

Throw in a grizzled career criminal, a luscious-bodied barfly, a Bachelor Fireman bachelorette party, a flash-fire romance, and a million-dollar money pot, and suddenly playing with fire never seemed so much like falling in love.

    Cute Read!

I very much enjoyed this book. I did have one or two issues with it that I overlooked because of the characters I liked so much. I didn't care for the starting fires part and thought it could have been handled differently. Most of the time I liked Katie Dane and all time I liked Ryan Blake. I also liked the other fire fighters in the story and can't wait for them to get their own books. The growth in this book worked well too. It's a feel good read.

This is the second book in the Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel b

This is the second book in the Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel by Jennifer Bernard. This story takes place approximately a year and a half since The Fireman Who Loved Me. In this book, we are re-introduced to Ryan, the young stud who was originally the intended date for Melissa in the first book. He has been on a leave of absence after a mishap that almost left a woman dead when she hid out in the plug-buggy and Ryan responded to a call alone, when he shouldn't have. A woman with a mental illness shot at him and injured the woman hiding in the plug-buggy. Instead of being fired, Captain Brody had put Ryan on leave of absence. He returns to San Gabriel after some time soul searching. His first stop is the Hair of the Dog bar, just down the block from the firehouse. There he meets, Katie Dane who is filling in for her father, who recently had a heart attack. Her family chose her to run the bar, since she was only in graduate school and not already working another job. Plus she is her father's favorite, so he is who he wants tending his bar.

But Katie knows nothing about running a business, and the bills are piling up. When her first big idea to draw in a crowd turns out to be a bust, and Ryan showing up to help out, she hires him to tend bar. After a small fire scare that Katie tells her family about, they all seem disappointed that the bar doesn't actually burn down. After that, Katie starts figuring out a way for the bar to burn down so her family can collect the insurance money. Unfortunately, Katie has no idea that Ryan was a fireman and he keeps saving the bar.

We don't get to see much of the guys from the firehouse, except during a little strip tease some of them do for a bachelorette party. Then we get to see (or at least imagine) quite a bit of them. *wink* Captain Brody and Melissa, from book 1, show up in several scenes and it is nice to be able to check up on them and see how they are doing.

The themes of forgiveness was once more in this book. Forgiving others, yourself and acceptance of the past. I enjoyed this book and gave it 3 stars on Goodreads, because I would have liked to have seen a bit less of a cliched ending.

    A real love story!

    Reviewed by: Ashleigh

Review originally posted at Romancing the Book

Review: Ryan Blake is making a comeback, and damn if he isn’t still the hottest thing next to an inferno there is. If only Ryan could make the last 18 months disappear then his life wouldn’t have gotten so far off track. Walking into the Hair of the Dog was just by chance but on that hot summer day, Ryan is about to get knocked on his butt by fate. Running into Katie at “the Dog” really made him stand up and pay attention for the first time in a long time. Will keeping his past a secret make her leave him in the end or will his past be the thing that brings these two together in the end? When trouble lurks around Katie, Ryan may just be the only one that can save her from herself.

Katie Dane, never wanted to be in the Hair of the Dog, let alone running it. But when her father needed to leave to heal after a heart attack she couldn’t say no. That was weeks ago and she has been miserable since day one. With bills piling up and Ryan Blake lurking around every corner of her mind she just wants to run away. If something isn’t done soon, the Dog will go under and it will all be her fault. Maybe creating a little fire between the sheets with Ryan will give her some ideas about other fires that could solve her problems as well. But when Ryan gets trapped inside because of her, just how far is Katie willing to go to save the man she didn’t want but fell for instead?

Being a second novel in the Bachelor’s series, I wasn’t sure what to expect with such a great opener (The Fireman Who Loved Me also reviewed on RtB), but Jennifer Bernard did it again. Not only did this book keep me riveted from the beginning with suspense and hot firemen to the rescue, but the love story behind it all was so real that I didn’t want it to end. Jennifer Bernard is an author to watch out for, she is on the rise and I can’t wait to see what else she comes up with in the future!

Not bad, but not the best either

Of all the books in this series, this was my least favorite even though I enjoyed it. Ryan is one of my favorite characters and I loved seeing him fall in love, but I thought he could do better than Katie. Katie was just so desperate and underhanded.

Bernard found something special in the chemistry between Brody and Melissa in the first book, and that something special has once again ignited her story. Ryan is charming and handsome, and he knows it. This, coupled with Katie’s obliviousness to her own wiles, makes for a hilarious, and heartwarming, match. Ryan has no idea what he’s gotten himself into with Katie, but when he realizes how he feels, he’s willing to ride it out all the way. Too bad there’s a jealous ex and some suspicious fires at the bar keeping them apart. With some appearances from the much loved characters in this first book, you’ll be clamoring for the next one!

Jennifer Bernard continues her Bachelor Firemen Novel in Hot For

Jennifer Bernard continues her Bachelor Firemen Novel in Hot For Fireman.

Fireman Ryan Blake is on leave from the force. He needs some time to think about his actions and to beg for his job back. Ryan takes a job as a bartender at the local watering hole, The Hair of the Dog.

Katie Dane had agreed to manage the family bar until her father’s health returns. She didn’t plan on making this her career but family is family. Katie decides to hire on Ryan as a bartender to help draw in more patrons. Ryan stellar good looks has the ladies eager to spent the night at the bar.

As Katie gets to know Ryan there is more to this former fire fighter then just his good looks. But someone has it in for the bar, small fires keep breaking out and it looks like Ryan is being framed.

Will Katie and Ryan new found romance survive the fire that threatens the bar?

Hot For Fireman is another stellar romance by Jennifer Bernard. Ryan and Katie’s romance is hot and sexy. Their chemistry is tantalizing and moving. This is a fun and delightful series that I can’t wait to read more stories.

I was looking forward to Ryan’s story in Hot For Fireman and was disappointed. I fell in love with The Fireman Who Loved Me, the characters and Jennifer Bernard writing but I could not get into this book.

It started off okay with Katie and Ryan having some bickering moments but I did not feel any chemistry between them. The characters seemed flat.

The sex scenes were a bit rushed and I did have to read them again because I felt I missed a part. The sexual tension was not there like in her 1st book.

Hot For Fireman was missing some LOL moments. Even the secondary characters (old men in the bar) were flat. The scene I thought was okay is when the firemen did a strip dance on the bar for charity at a bachorlette party.

I will continue to read this series because I did enjoyed her writing in the first book. This can be a stand alone book so you do not have to read it if reading the series.
