Here's another one for Chicki Brown. What is friendship? What does it mean to you, do for you, and do to you. Chicki really broke it down where you can put yourselves in the book and see which friend you were and which friend you had. Truly awesome cannot wait for the sequel. Another 5 stars in my book.

Sunscreen will not be the only thing found on the beach in Hot Fun in the Summertime by Chicki Brown. Drama! What else could happen when seven people from different walks of life vacation together in a beach house for two hot summer months? The women are the writer, video vixen, real estate agent/accountant, and the hairstylist/cosmetologist. It is through their voices the story is told. What a story it is!

Kudos to Ms. Chicki Brown on her book Hot Fun in the Summertime. I just finished reading it and was very proud how well written the book was and also proud of how the author gave such a vivid description of my home state NJ and the beauty of our shore. I felt connected to the characters and scenery. Ms. Brown I look forward to more of your novels.

    Loved It!!!

I borrowed the e-book from a friend and could not put it down. I could not wait to get home each evening to get my next dose. I just bought it as well as the next installment/sequel. Well done!!! My only constructive criticism is that the whole story line is real and believable except the "everyone is happy and got what they wanted" end. But, it still was a wonderful story.

The title does not do it justice.

Chicki Brown is a fantastic writer! After seeing her post this book on a page on facebook I decided to give it a try. I could not put the book down. This was the first of her books I read, but certainly not the last. I highly recommend all her books! As I said, she is a fantastic writer! Make sure to read the sequel Hollywood Swinging.

I just read the wonderful review below from Anonymous, and just wanted to say the book is less than 400 pages. Don't understand how that number came up!

    Highly Recommend

I came across this book when searching for cheap e-reads. I immediately ordered it because the author is black and I love to support African-American writers. I initially thought OMG, 961 pages, but every page was awesome. Brilliantly written and I am about to order the sequel as soon as I finish tying.

Chicki Brown is a rising star!

Author Chicki Brown puts up another great book. Hot Fun in the Summertime is about a groups of friends who gather at a beach house for the summer on the Jersey Shore. Each of them lead very different lives with different, three-dimensional personalities to create a complex and intriguing story. Sparks fly, old rivalries surface and love blooms in the vacation house for each of its occupants. Ms. Brown keeps the reader interested as she focuses an equal amount of time on every character, giving each of them their own unique story.

With the release of her second book, Chicki Brown proves to us she can tell sassy, one-of-a-kind stories with characters we all can relate to. Keep an eye on this one she is sure to make a name for herself.
