I love Ranae's paranormal books. She writes awesome shifter crack ;). When I saw this novella, I immediately put it on my wish list. How could I not? It was a book written by an author I love and has a hot tattoo guy on the cover. Seriously, it was a no brainer. I loved this contemporary fiction novel. The main characters were nice people who lived real lives. There was no billionaire sweeping in to save the day or guardian angel who will break the laws of his kind to give her an HEA. It was just two people doing the best they can with what they have and finding each other at the right time. I know this is categorized for its heat, but I have to tell you this was a super sweet love story and it will be one I read again.

well worth the read
Bank teller Mina feels 24 going on 40. As guardian for her wheelchair bound 14 year old sister she doesn’t get out much and can’t identify with her peers. She meets sexy tattoo artist Eric when she decides to get a rather intricate tattoo. He is nothing but professional while giving her the tattoo but when Mina’s best friend rising photographer offers to take pictures of some of the ink work as advertisement for the shop Mina and Eric end up in close quarters and the chemistry between them is obvious. With some pushing from her bff Mina agrees to a date with Eric. But will he still want to go out with her when he finds out that he can’t be her first priority?
I love that these characters are so real. Mina is so strong but riddled with insecurity. Eric is strong and sexy but not perfect either. They are perfect for each other. Hot Ink is a short book but it is filled with a terrific story with multiple sub plots. It is well worth the read. I do have one problem with it though. The plot device to introduce the two is improbable given Mina’s character. She wouldn’t spend the money necessary for a tattoo especially one that involved. But once you get past that…

Eric and Mina are wonderful together. No sexy rich guy just a down to earth guy and girl. Refreshing and sweet. Bought the rest for the series and can't wait to read it.

A great start to a new series!
I was drawn to this series by the promise of intense skin art and a splash of romance too!
Well, I wasn't disappointed.
This may not be as complex a series as some others currently around, but it is an easy, enjoyable read with amazingly fresh and loveable characters.
I'm looking forward to book two!

Through this book (series) I became a fan of Ranae Rose. It was nice to read a story that took place in my hometown. It is well
worth the read. Mina and Eric develop a bond while he tattoos her side and then with the photo shoot they become even closer.
And through it all Mina always puts her little sister first and Eric respects her for it.

Loved the story and all the characters in this book! I mean who doesn't love a bad boy who isn't really "bad"? I only wish it could of been longer, seemed to end before I wanted it to. Will read other books by Ranae Rose. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

Fun and spunky read. I really enjoyed the characters.
Mina is a girl who has had a rough go of it and knows how her life is planned
out for her until she meets Eric. Eric is a guy who seems to have it all together.
Sure he know life can be hard but is still sure of himself and his goals.
When Mina has Eric do a tattoo for her, she tells herself its just a tattoo and
nothing more. Until Mina's friend Karen is asked to do a photo shot for the
tattoo shop where Eric works. As things progress Mina's wants more from her
life then what she knows it will be.
They both see how their lives change so quickly in the blink of an eye.
More in the series (2) Innocent Ink and (3) Dedicated Ink.
