Overview

Mina never meant to fall for her sexy tattoo artist, Eric, or to become a model. But when she's asked to pose in a photo shoot for the Hot Ink tattoo studio, she can't say no. She finally gets a look at Eric's tattoos when they're cajoled into posing together, and in a few breathtaking moments, an on-camera kiss turns the passion they're asked to fake into something very real, leaving them both wanting more. The only problem is that Mina's not the glamour girl she looks like on the Hot Ink posters, or even in a tattoo magazine. She's only twenty-four, but being the sole guardian of her disabled younger sister has left her feeling much older. Will Eric still be interested when he gets to know the girl behind the ink and the make-up and finds out that she and her little sister are a package deal?

Book 1 in the Inked in the Steel City Series.

I love Ranae's paranormal books.  She writes awesome shifter crack ;).  When I saw this novella, I immediately put it on my wish list.  How could I not?  It was a book written by an author I love and has a hot tattoo guy on the cover.  Seriously, it was a no brainer.  I loved this contemporary fiction novel.  The main characters were nice people who lived real lives.  There was no billionaire sweeping in to save the day or guardian angel who will break the laws of his kind to give her an HEA.  It was just two people doing the best they can with what they have and finding each other at the right time.  I know this is categorized for its heat, but I have to tell you this was a super sweet love story and it will be one I read again.

well worth the read Bank teller Mina feels 24 going on 40.  As guardian for her wheelchair bound 14 year old sister she doesn’t get out much and can’t identify with her peers.  She meets sexy tattoo artist Eric when she decides to get a rather intricate tattoo.  He is nothing but professional while giving her the tattoo but when Mina’s best friend rising photographer offers to take pictures of some of the ink work as advertisement for the shop Mina and Eric end up in close quarters and the chemistry between them is obvious.  With some pushing from her bff Mina agrees to a date with Eric.  But will he still want to go out with her when he finds out that he can’t be her first priority? I love that these characters are so real.  Mina is so strong but riddled with insecurity.  Eric is strong and sexy but not perfect either.  They are perfect for each other.  Hot Ink is a short book but it is filled with a terrific story with multiple sub plots.  It is well worth the read.  I do have one problem with it though.  The plot device to introduce the two is improbable given Mina’s character.  She wouldn’t spend the money necessary for a tattoo especially one that involved.  But once you get past that…

Love this book! Would love for it to be a little longer though.

A great start to a new series! I was drawn to this series by the promise of intense skin art and a splash of romance too!  Well, I wasn't disappointed.  This may not be as complex a series as some others currently around, but it is an easy, enjoyable read with amazingly fresh and loveable characters.  I'm looking forward to book two!

Honestly. I hate to go against everyone's opinions on this book. But jeeezee was this book incredibly awful. It had no depth to it. It was just a bunch of dialogue about I like him but I'm scared and then I want him but there's no time. And then boom it happens and the book is over. I'm so glad this book was free because I would have been so upset if I actually spent money on this. I definitely won't be spending money on the rest of the series out of fear that they'll be just as awful as this book.

This was okay. Mina was a little annoying with her back and forth attitude. Sometimes she showed her strength, like the situation with her sister getting hurt at school, but at other times she let people sort of bully her like at her job at the bank. Eric was a great guy but she kept him at Arms length for stupid reasons because it's so obvious she's nothing like her mother, but she likes to play the martyr for some reason, which was annoying as hell. Overall not a bad read but a little to cutesy for my tastes despite all the ink involved which I absolutely love! SR

I absolutely loved reading this story. I am a sucker for a good rimance novel. It was great that there was a meaning behind the majority of the tattoos.

This book was kind of boring. And it seemed rushed to me. 120 some pages. Not reading anymore books from this series.

I liked this story, it’s cute and fun. You’ll laugh and Ahhhh through the entire book. While it’s a series I’ll continue to follow, especially when I’m in the mood for a lighthearted read, it won’t be at the top of my must read list.
