    good read

Short, hot, and to the point. The sex was graphic and the story was a perfect length. I liked the fact that the characters didn't lie or hide things from each other like many other romance novels do to take up space. Without the extra drama it made this book a good way to pass the time

    Outstanding

    ## OUTSTANDING. Wow, how I adored this book. Superbly written, this story had both suspense and romance. The hero was drool-worthy and perfect in every way. He may be my favorite hero to date. And the heroine was tremendous. She was strong, beautiful, honest and loving. Their chemistry was off the charts. A must read.

This is my second non-paranormal read and I have to say I have been blessed to find such great stories. This one is about Royce and Lauren. Royce runs a security company and Lauren is an Assistant DA. Lauren just got a high profile case which includes putting a battered woman up for the death penalty. Lauren has been getting anonymous threats, so her father has requested the help of Royce to protect her. Lauren has no idea that her father, who happens to be a US Senator, has been getting threats as well and that he has asked Royce to look out for her. When Lauren meets Royce at her father's birthday party, sparks fly. Royce must work with his brothers to find out who is threatening Lauren, and keep Lauren from finding out that he was hired by her father. Ok, so what's not to like about this story? Nothing. It has all the elements that keep readers intrigued. Action, romance, suspense, mystery and that surprise right at the very end. Lisa has a way of writing that makes you want to jump into the story and actually become a part of it. I am eager to continue with the series with book 2, "Dangerous Secrets".

Royce Walker is hired on to protect Lauren without her knowledge

Royce Walker is hired on to protect Lauren without her knowledge. He's not okay with it, but what is he supposed to say to the man that is not only Lauren's father, but the a man who was a lawyer and has his own firm who now is stepping out in the world of politics. They both agree that she could be in danger, but not how to go about telling her or not.
Lauren is a lawyer working for the DA's office wants more than anything to be her own person out of the shadow of her family. Where she doesn't love let alone like her stepmother and stepbrother she adores and misses her father and wants the best for him even if it is a career in politics. She just wants to be left out of the limelight.
Lauren and Royce have an instant attraction to one another and almost immediately he finds himself protective of her. Now to get through all of this with her safe and her not getting angry when she finds out that her father and Royce both have kept her out of the loop.
I loved this first book in the Tall, Dark and Deadly Series. Lori P

    Great Series!
I loved this book, but then I love all of Lisa Renee Jones’s books. Royce Walker opened a private security firm with his brothers. He has always been attracted to Lauren the Assistant District Attorney. When Lauren is threatened and targeted because of the case she is working on then Royce steps up to help protect her. When they get together their passion is hot! This book is full of it all romance, humor, mystery, and suspense. I can’t wait to read the next books in this series. I love the Walker brothers.

I liked this story. I have read some others by Lisa and liked them. She develops some real gritty plots and they are definitely not for under 18 readers. She sure knows how to come up with headstrong yet fragile people to write about. Lauren is a Senator's daughter with an evil stepmother and a strange evil stepbrother. She wants to earn her own merits to stay out of Daddy's shadow. Royce is ex-military and has a security business with his 2 brothers. He thought she was a spoiled brat but she shows him she isn't. Royce is asked to protect her by her father. It was an anxious trip to the end. I changed villains several times and was still wrong. Try this book. It is a softer read of Lisa's. I have this book for an honest review for NetGalley.

    ***3.5 STARS***

Hot Secrets is the first book I have read from author Lisa Renee Jones and I really liked the story.  I liked this so much I finished it in 2 days.

Hot Secrets is the first book of the Tall, Dark & Deadly series.  Royce Walker is a former FBI agent that now owns a private security firm with his brothers.  He is hired by Senator Reynolds for security and meets the senator’s daughter, Lauren.  Lauren is an Assistant District Attorney and is preparing for a very public murder trial.  While sparks fly between Lauren and Royce there is also danger.  Lauren is being stalked and it is perfect that she has just met Royce, her own personal body guard.  But Royce is keeping a secret from Lauren that can destroy their chances of a future.  Hot Secrets is a sexy romance mixed with suspense.  I love this combination because the story kept me interested.  The sex scenes were hot but I wasn’t swept off my feet.  Royce is described by Lauren as an “alpha male” but he came across as bossy to me.  For me he wasn’t an intense character to receive an “alpha male” status.  I thought he was sexy and tough, so I did like him.  I liked Lauren because she was a smart and tough attorney.  But I wish she would have stood up for herself with her family.  As ADA she wants to fight for victims but it was odd that she couldn’t fight for herself.

Despite my issues with the main characters I really enjoyed the mystery.  I thought it had surprising twists and kept me guessing until the end.  Overall I liked Hot Secrets.  It was a quick, sexy and suspenseful read. I’m looking forward to reading more from Lisa Renee Jones.

    Hot, steamy, intriguing romantic suspense.

Royce Walker has the perfect job when it counts. He is allowed to use his job as the reason for protecting his long time obsession, Lauren Reynolds. She is the Assistant DA and has a boat load of trouble heading her way. But Royce maybe the one thing that no one expected to have her back (and front). The fireworks just bloom from there. Take the ride and enjoy as the climax rides its high and all the way to completion.

Jones has brought me another hot romance to get the blood flowing.

Lisa Renee Jones hits another one out of the park!  Hot Secrets pulls you in from the very first paragraph.  Watching Lauren’s lack of support from her family made the love and support she was receiving from Royce (and his brothers) so much more heartwarming.  Following Lauren and Royce on their terrifying roller coaster ride kept this reader in suspense, not able to “know who done it” until the very end and even then was shocked.

The first book in the Tall, Dark & Deadly series is a riveti

The first book in the Tall, Dark & Deadly series is a riveting romance that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat.  Former FBI agent Royce Walker opened a private security firm with his brothers and has always had the hots for the prim and proper Assistant DA, Lauren Reynolds, so when her life is threatened he will do whatever it takes to protect her.
This fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps the adrenaline pumping with lots of suspense, drama and romance.  The author uses well written scenes and events and well orchestrated timing and suspense to bring this story to life and the reader can’t help but get caught up in the intrigue and drama of Royce and Lauren’s story as the danger escalates.  The strong compelling characters are easily related to and grab the reader’s attention and inspiring lots of curiosity to know more.
The attraction between Lauren and Royce radiates extreme heat from every page and the sex scenes are so hot they explode with fiery passion that singes the reader.  Lauren captures the reader’s heart with her shy insecure vulnerability when comes to men, which is in direct contrast to the strong, take charge lawyer and Royce makes hearts pound with overprotective bossy attitude that just screams sexy and hot. The story produces tears and outrage, laughter and smiles throughout the story and there is some fun snarky dialogue to spice things up as well.
The author has created a great contemporary romance with three sexy and charming brothers that ensure that the reader wants to know about their stories. I was totally caught up in the story from the very beginning and the author managed to throw a few curve balls in there amongst all the personal conflicts as well professional conflicts that kept things real interesting.

I received a copy of this book from Netgallery in exchange for an honest review.

In book one of the Tall, Dark, and Deadly series we find Royce Walker, the oldest of the three walker brothers. Together the brothers run a private security firm. Asked for a favor from an old friend of his father Royce finds hiself investigating threats made towards Assitant District Attorney Lauren Reynolds. The two have been skirting around eachother for months but Lauren has finally decided she is done running from what she wants.

When the threats towards Lauren end up being more serious than previously anticipated Royce will do anything to keep her safe. Even if it means keeping information from her.

I like Royce's bossy attitude. Being former FBI he expected to be obeyed at all times. Lauren had other ideas. Even though she appeared to be shy at times she had a backbone too. I have to admit the instant trust she had with Royce was kinda weird for me but I guess it worked for the storyline.

Hot Secrets, (Tall, Dark, and Deadly), Lisa Renee Jones. Review

Hot Secrets, (Tall, Dark, and Deadly), Lisa Renee Jones.
Review from jeannie zelos book reviews.
I'm a romance lover, but it has to have a decent story behind it – and preferably a HEA too :-) I loved Lisa's Amy Benson series so thought I’d try this. Its romantic suspense but at the level I enjoy, not too deep on the suspense, but a good dollop of romance, and some smouldering sex!
Royce is one of three brothers, all ex services, all tall, dark and deadly. They run Walker security, and Royce has been asked to discreetly protect Lauren by her father, a senator, who doesn't want her to know about it, or that he's received some suspicious threats. Royce has always had the hots for Lauren, but has no idea he's the subject of her erotic fantasies too. The dangers mount at the same time as he and Lauren embark on a passionate affair, but he knows he's threatening everything if she finds out he's been hired by her father. She'll feel betrayed, but he's stuck in the middle, needs to do his job, has fallen in love with Lauren and won't do anything that might jeopardise the danger she's in. Until the brothers can track down the source her life could be at risk, and Royce is determined not to let his feelings and fear she'll leave him get in the way of her safety.
Of course everything comes to a head just at the wrong moment. There's hot sensual sex, danger and threats, blackmail and betrayals, before we reach a climatic conclusion. Its good value at just 99p for 197 pages, but even better is the fact you can buy all three books for just 77p! Each book is connected but a complete, stand-alone novel.
Stars: four, good fun sensual read. .
