About the Author

Jesse Love is a writer, photographer, world traveler, inventor, and the Designer and Project Manager for the Celestopea floating ocean communities. His writings include 'How to' books such as the popular 'How to Build a Greenhouse', condensed history books such as the regional bestseller 'History of St. Augustine: Whimsically Illustrated History of North Americas Oldest City', guide books including the regional bestseller 'Hot Springs of Western Washington', and innovative self-help books such as 'Depression Free! Revolutionary Multimedia Self-treatment for Depression, Anxiety and Bi-polar Disorder'.

He has been interviewed by newspapers, magazines and television shows regarding his expertise in a variety of fields. This book was such a pleasure to discover. After reading it I realized it was actually the first book ever written on hot springs in Western Washington. I have purchased others and comparing them this one is by far the best for information and maps, especially if you are looking to visit wilderness springs rather than easy to access but overcrowded popular springs. A lot of new information must have been added in the current edition as most springs seem to have up-to date info as of 2010.

I really enjoyed Hot Springs of Western Washington. The information on the springs was complete and interesting. The maps were novel, hand-drawn and detailed. There were many good pictures and the color ones make me want to go there for sure! I felt like jumping into the pictures. I do all my hiking with a hand-held GPS now whenever I'm going someplace new, so I appreciated the GPS coordinates for almost all of the springs.

Let's face it Washington summers are really short and cool, especially if you are up in the mountains. I use this book whenever I plan a hike to warm me at hikes end or along the way. There are so many hot springs detailed in this book it is seldom a hike that I cannot include a soak in a soothing hot spring at the end or in route. The more it gets into the cold and rainy months the more I like this book and the knowledge that there is almost always a hot spring on some part of my hike. Sometime

I bought the hikers paperback version back in the 1980's and it opened up a new world to me as I visited many of the hot springs in the book. At the time it was information that was available from no other source. I know because looked. The new 2010 Kindle version has many updates of pictures and info when I compare it to my well-worn paperback copy.
