Hot Tea – book one of The Tea Series

In Hot Tea, Cara O'Flynn finds herself in an unusual position. She's quit her job and can afford to take a few weeks to find a new career, plus, her roommate has run off and left her with an empty room to fill. If she can just accomplish those two tasks before her mother finds out she has no income and no one to help pay the bills, she's in good shape.

The problem - Cara didn't plan for three careers in as many days nor did she anticipate the new guys that dropped in her lap. And then there's her sister Teagan, always helpful and funny, she can be a bit annoying at times.

When you're Irish, all things (good and bad) come in threes. It's inevitable. Cara should have remembered not to forget that part.

Cara and Teagan bring laughter, intelligence and family tradition to every experience they encounter.

Praise for The Tea Series

This is the beginning of a wonderful series about the love of family, especially an Irish family, close knit, as they Live Life to the Fullest in true Irish fashion. The sibling dynamics are strikingly realistic - funny, witty, "I can diss my sister but no one else better try" type of camaraderie. The plot lines have just enough suspense to keep the reader hooked without too much to scare you before bed! The few unanswered questions make the reader want to hurry up and download the next book. I've finished the first 4 and am anxiously awaiting the fifth installment. If you're looking for a funny, light read with a little substance and some great words of wisdom to ponder, look no further! Put the Kettle on and settle in. ~ E.

Meet the Author

Blessed to be born into a strong Irish American family, Sheila describes herself as 'one of ten'. Sheila raised her son, as well as a plethora of other children she calls her own, and now enjoys the title of Grandma.

When asked about her writing, Sheila states, 'I devoted the first phase of my life to my parents and family, the second to my children, this last phase is for me. I love to write, share my somewhat skewed vision of the world, and with luck, make people laugh now and then.'

    Love this series

Am up to book five. Funny, charming characters and dialogue. American Irish family relationships and dramas. Each new book picks up exactly where the previous one ended. Some adult content but not graphic. Books five thru eight now available in a set.

Amature attempt , very redundant dialogue

The premise of this book is absurd and the characters are shallow. The dialogue repeats over and over during the first 100 pages. At best this could have been a short story, not a full-length book.

    Bad ending

I started reading this book that seemed it was for teens. However I like to finish what I started. So I finished this only to find no ending which probably means you have to buy the next book in the series.

    Interesting

What grabs the reader first are the characters. They are engrossing, funny and lively all at the same time. Plot isn't quite what I expected, but I have to keep reading to find out how the situation turns out. If the rest of the series is as grabbing as the first book, it will be a fun ride. Way to go for Sheila Horgan.

I found this to be a very boring difficult to read book. It reminds me of teenage sisters bickering constantly and using every slang term imaginable. I would not recommend it. Somewhere inhere is a plot.
