WINNER OF THE 2011 FORWARD NATIONAL LITERATURE AWARD (for "Drowning")

Book two of the "Bobby's Diner" series. If "Thelma & Lousie" met "L&O: Special Victims Unit" you'd get HOTTER THAN HELEN at Bobby's Diner.

Running a diner isn't always a piece of cake. Now, operating Bobby's Diner with Roberta, Georgette Carlisle's old friend, Helen, comes back to town. Once again, Helen is attracted to Georgette's man. But Hawthorn Biggs isn't what he proclaims to be. When Helen goes missing, Georgette and Roberta jump into action. After braving separation, torture and near death, all seems lost.

HOTTER THAN HELEN is the no. 2 book in the award-winning, best selling Bobby's Diner series--women's fiction that slips frighteningly close into romance with the sharp edge of a dagger--possibly the same one used in a murder!

If you enjoy fast moving, engrossing crime/suspense/chick lit fiction with plenty of suspense and well-drawn characters you can almost reach out and touch, this book will not disappoint you. Did I mention suspense? There are scenes in "Hotter Than Helen" that are so intense I thought I was watching a movie. Susan Wingate has added another hit to her ever-growing list of well-planned, tightly-written novels that are pure entertainment.

I can't wait for the next one!

I read the second book in this series first and ended getting the first book. I'm still reading the first book, Bobby's Diner and can see why this story won some awards. The writing is fresh and the premise, new. I can't wait for the third book to come out. It's a great story. You won't be sorry to buy this book.

I really enjoy Susan’s Bobby’s Diner books. And Helen is a hoot and a half, and I mean that in both the good sense and the bad. I couldn’t put this book down for long and the characters stayed with me. Character development is key to me, and “Hotter than Helen” has great characters. Recommended.
