Overview

Lonely Clementine is the rightful heir to the House of Peine, the vineyard that has been in the family for generations. She has spent her whole life caring for the vines, not to mention her sour brute of a father. But now the Peine patriarch is dead, and to Clementine’s distress his will stipulates that she must share the vineyard with a half-sister she hasn’t seen in twenty years and another she didn’t even know existed. Secrets tumble out as the three sisters struggle to rescue the family heritage while overcoming their own differences. As a precious blend of grapes, tears and triumph brings these estranged siblings together, readers will savor this heartfelt toast to sisterhood and inspired celebration of champagne.

Deals with sibling relationships and first impressions..."never judge a book by its cover" also holds true for first impressions.

Such a delightful book. I love chick lit, but have become quite bored with the standard, but this is like nothing I've read before. Such interesting plot and research. This book made me order her other two books which were also delightful. Highly recommend

A bit like Alice Hoffman with hints of magic. Sarah-Kate Lynch has definitely grown with her ability to write since her first 2 books. She created a feeling of caring about all these characters even when you feel you don't like some of them. Though there is a romance the best part is the interaction between the sisters. They seem like real people. I have no intrest in wine and yet I really learned and enjoyed the wine making process in this small vineyard. Can't wait for her next book and after cheese making (1st book)& bread making (2nd book) I look forward to what she'll choose to write about next.

Her books never disappoint. I have learned about cheeses, bees and sourdough bread making. Now more about the art of wine making than I knew before even living in wine country near Lake Erie. The stories of the people in the stories are compelling. I hope she continues to educate and delight with future books.

A very enjoyable read. House of Daugthers has interesting charactors who develop nicely throughout the story, a wonderful setting and a passion for wine and wine makers. A great book to read on vacation or on the porch, with a glass of wine of course.
