    One of the best books i've read.

    I first read this book in the 8th grade. I have read it 3 times since. And each time I find myself not being able to put it down. Its an awesome book and I reccommend it to anyone who has an imagination.

    not bad.....

    the book was acutally pretty good. i had to read it for an ap english class, and to be honest i enjoyed it. it had a different story line, the ending was kind of tiwsted but it really makes you think

    Suprisingly suprising!

    5, sixteen year old orpahans, struggle to survive in a taunting house filled with white stairs and blank space.
    Peter, Lola, Abigail, Blossom, and Oliver find a small red machine, that when pleased by thier actions, gives them small amounts of food. By keeping them on the verge of starvation, it can control them.
    Though it may seem predictable at the start, this book twists and turns in unexpected ways, catching me off-guard many times. Highly recommended.

    The Boy Who Couldn't Die

    I loved the book!

    The ending is very strange and unique, other than that, I loved the book! It has adventure, excitement, unique friendships, and it shows you that you cant always trust the people that are close to you. If you like books that are very strange and unlike other science fiction, then you would love all of William Sleator's books.

    Surprisingly Good!

    This book had been laying in my bookshelf for as long as I can remember.. I decided to give it a try. A few chapters into it I got so into it I didn't even noticed when I started to turn pages. It is an easy read for anyone and very enjoyable.

    This book is freakin awesome

    this book offers so much to readers of all levels plus it's absolutly fantastic. The author draws you into it and you find yourself feeling and identifing with the characters. What's more is it happens for the most part in one place but it has the same thrill of an action packed book. This is a book everyone will enjoy.

    Confusing but, Good

    Wow, I read this book in 7th grade, it was an assignment but, i thought it was pretty good.The book really described how life is as a teenager, you need to relay on eachother at some point but, you need to be independent to survive.This book gives life a new perspective.If you like fiction and unrealistic books you would really enjoy this one.Confusing but, Good.

    Interesting Plot!

    This story is so cool, it was a very different kind of storyline. I like the way the author set it up. It was kind of like a mystery but yet full of suspense. I think a lot more teenagers should read these kinds of books. Especially this one! Some people find this book confusing, but you should go to your local library and check this book out. It has an interesting plot!

    What we need to survive

    I read this book in high school, which is a couple of years ago. I loved this book and still do, it was great to see how people, mainly teenagers, would surive if they needed to hurt others to get food. It's kind of like grade school.

    house of stairs was one of my favorite books simply because it was the first book I read that I couldn't lay down. It was my first book I read because I wanted to, not because I had to.

    Not my favourite one

    I don't like 'House of Stairs'. We had to read it for the English lessons and I think the author just wants pupils to think about their lives. But it is very unrealistic and somehow awful so that I don't like it.

    I still remember this 20 years later!

    I read this in high school nearly 20 years ago and it had a profound effect on me. In some ways it has helped me to be a stronger person as an adult because there were times in my life when I would have to ask myself: 'Is my life controlling me or am I controlling my life?' I think it's an excellent read for anyone 12 and up (or younger). This is a book that captures the young imagination and then leads it to thinking. Great for adults to read too! I'm going to order it now and was very happy and surprised to have found it still available!

    House of Stairs

    House of Stairs wasn¿t my favorite book but it had an interesting plot and setting. The book House of Stairs is about a group of orphans who are taken to a strange place where there are stairs going in every direction and everything is white. The strange thing about it is they are all sixteen and they all got called to the office then they were blindfolded and taken to the strange place. My favorite part of the book was the end. I also liked the good descriptions of the characters. I think the book House of Stairs is a good book for anyone who likes to read science fiction books about mysterious places.
