This is a terrific book! Funny, thoughtful and life affirming. Mindy is a friend with whom I have shared a favorite babysitter, swapped school stories, and commiserated over childrens' head lice (us) and a bedbug scare (Mindy). However, there are aspects of her life -- her family history, her insights and her professional experiences -- about which I had no clue. I was unable to put this book down and I think I would feel this way even if she weren't a friend. She's just a damn good writer and a caring and thoughtful human being who has written a thoroughly enjoyable memoir.
