Housing, support and community (1993) is updated in the new book, Public administration and disability: Community services administration in the US (Racino, in press, 2014). The book reflected the need nationwide for "non-facility-based" services where individuals could choose where and with whom to live, and for support services in homes and communities versus institutional placements. Highlighted were critical roles of housing associations, service users and their parents, choice regarding services and workers, cultural sensitivity, agency change, and community development., among others. Was this review helpful?
