Tips For Using This Book
This diverse collection of images brings together a wide range of artists depicting a single theme, an approach that helps young children see how a favorite subject can look so different, yet so familiar. There are many great ways of using the pictures to encourage learning and spark interest, such as comparing one image to another, creating a simple story based on a favorite image, or asking engaging questions.

Here are some sample questions to get you started:

Which train looks the most like ones you have seen? Which looks different?Pretend you are a passenger on one of these trains. What sounds do you hear?If you could pick one of these trains to ride, which one would you choose? Why?Which train do you think is the fastest? The slowest? Is the train traveling in day/night? Summer/winter? How can you tell?
After looking at these beautiful images together, you may feel inspired to explore your local museum or library to find more images of trains. Your child may even feel inspired to create his or her own masterpiece on the subject. At the end of this book you will find more information on the pictures, including where they can be viewed, if applicable. Happy looking!
