    Highly Recommend for Kids

My son got this for Christmas and loves each and every book. He enjoys having us read and reread them many times a day. I like that they teach important lessons in a fun way. When we are reading them and it asks if this is how a dinosaur....; he answers "no" at the appropriate times and "yes" at the appropriate times. I feel like he is learning while having fun and this has been proven the best way for a child to learn. If he has a hard time with something, like sharing with friends, we reread the book to get the point across. I only wish Jane Yolen and Mark Teague would write/illustrate more books like these (and the other few) so that I can continue to help my child learn the important lessons in life in such a fun and appropriate way. The fact that it is dinosaurs doing the teaching is that much better.

    Great for young children

The How Do Dinosaurs series of books are wonderful books for reading and discussing with young children. This set of of board books is just the right size for preschoolers. These stories draw in the child and help them learn in many areas of comprehension and literacy prereading skills.

    Some of our favorites

The How Do Dinosaurs are some of our favorites in our household. The issues are very close to what the children experience in their lives; I've read them to my 4-yr-old son for a couple of years, and each time he hears it differently, he gets something else out of the story. I bought the Pocket Library version for a class project, and their sizes are great to carry on a the purse or kids' bag or even to add to an Easter basket or goodie bags.

    I Also Recommend:

Great toddler books that promote learning and fun.

My 2-year-old son loves to read and re-read these four board books featuring dinosaurs who count, know their colors, clean their rooms and play with their friends. The illustrations are quite good, and the name of each dinosaur is put discretely somewhere in the illustration, so we have fun learning the names of the different dinosaurs as well as our colors and numbers. My favorite of the four books in this set is "How to Dinosaurs Play with Their Friends," mostly for the clever illustrations. This is a great gift or purchase for toddlers just learning their colors and numbers.
