Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
"How does God listen?" When a child asks this simple question, the author presents answers by employing touch, smell, taste, sight, hearing, and feeling. These senses are used to show the child how he or she can know God listens. Sunshine on faces, sirens people hear, cat's purring, snow touching tongues, and cold ice cream are but a few of the examples used to answer the title question. The simple format says a lot even though many pages have only one sentence. "Kid answers" are shown in large child-like printing. The photographer captures wonderful childhood moments with her pictures. Color frames each photo and looks as if a child has added it. The publishers have done their research and state that the book is "endorsed by Protestant, Catholic, Jewish, and Buddhist religious leaders." The book will be a welcome addition to all religions seeking to enrich the views and beliefs of youngsters. 2005, Skylight Paths Publishing, Ages 3 to 6.
