Very educational yet left wing biased.

First of all I want to say the book was very well written and educational and I enjoyed it immensley. If your looking for a modern explination of how our government works then this book is for you. With that said the author states that this book is a non biased look at the history and how thegovernment should work, yet time and time again I felt the book to have left wing biase. Several parts of the book point to George Bushs failures or the public over looking Ronald Reagan illegal actions as president. On the other hand President Obama and other democrats are talked about in a very positive standpoint. I would be very suprised to find that the author was not very much a liberal orprogressive democrat. In closing i would still reccommend the book just with the understanding that it does seem to hav bias.

    Must Read!

What a great book! Easy to read and it is a great refresher on American History and how the Framers put together our Constitution out of necessity. Rubin does a great job describing the systems of our government and why the Framers believed in federalism. I really liked how the book explains the system of government and how political parties, the media and interest groups are intertwined in our government workings. He explains how each aspect of the government REALLY works, not what we here from media, politicians and those who espouse their opinions as if they know. I highly recommend this book. It is a MUST read for every American.

This is an easy to read yet very informative book on what both political
parties, interest groups and the media have done to distract Americans
from noticing that our ability to be fairly represented in Washington is
steadily being weakened. A "must read" for anyone wondering
how the Constitution came about and how it outlined the blueprint for a
federal government that is routinely misrepresented and misunderstood.
    Great read!
