About the Author

Jeff Hanson is a lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas Tech University. He received his PhD in Systems & Engineering Management from Texas Tech. Hanson’s popular YouTube channel with instructional engineering course videos has hundreds of thousands of followers worldwide.

Ashley L. Bernal is an associate professor of Mechanical Engineering at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. She holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech and previously worked at Boeing as a Subsystems Engineer on Joint Unmanned Combat Air Systems.

James Pitaressi is Distinguished Teaching Professor of Mechanical Engineering vice provost and executive director at the Center for Learning and Teaching, Binghamton University, State University of New York. A member of the AccessEngineering Faculty Advisory Board, he holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Buffalo. Pitaressi has received the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching, the University's Award for Excellence in Teaching, and the Peter A. Engel Memorial Award for Outstanding Teaching in Mechanical Engineering.
