Finally, A Cookbook I Can Understand

I bought this book last week and was really happy to discover that it is a basic cookbook for all of us who don't want to be an Iron Chef or Emeril or Rachael or whoever. I just want to be able to cook simple good food for my friends. Nothing fancy, just something that tastes good. This book helped me do it. I think it can help anyone who is willing to try to cook. I also think it can help people who already have some basic stuff become better.

Amazing resource for those who are just learning...

Okay... so this book literally covers how to boil water, but it also explains the best way to make a potatoe salad and how to cut meat... it tells you all about what ingredients to buy for what meals.... and what wines go well with what dishes. It's an all around amazing resource.

    Great Gift

I purchased this as a wedding gift for a friend who admittedly doesn't know how to boil water. It was a hit.

    more from this reviewer

This was SUPPOSED to be a gift for my sister...BUT MY WIFE KEPT THE BOOK!

And while I didn't like the fact that we had to go out and get her a new gift, I did like the polenta and sausage recipe.
