Ok, where do I start. First of all, this book is a must buy if your trying to do "interesting" things in photoshop. It's not one of those, "to crop a photo click blank and drag blank to there". It's fun things like putting Obama's head on Hilary Clintons body. Or giving your mom a mustache. And the things he teaches you just gives you a pallete for bigger and crazier ideas. Like "ok, I learned how to make it nightime in a daytime photo so now I'm going to put a burning building in the background and make it look like spiderman's realistically there saving the day. However if you dont already know the basics a few of the tools you'r using you could have a hard time. Because he doesn't do everything literally step by step. I.e. "Make an outline of an object and make a new layer of it via cut, then set it to hard light mode." you will need to know the very basic stuff, but it can all be found somewhere on the interent. I would recommend this over the others because this isn't boring stuff. It's more of a "let's put a hat on a dog and a cat on the hat holding a pole with a mouse standing on it", than a "here's how to get rid of the dogs redeye" kind of book. And I actually learned lot's from this book. If you need any help the cd it comes with pops right into your computer and you can use all the pictures he uses in the examples if you don't have a good enough picture to work with. Also, he has video tutorials for some of the lessons on the cd.

This book has great examples, very clear instructions, and excellent step by step photos. I found his approach to getting things done quickly very practical. Worth every penny.

Finally, a book that says something new about photoshop that doesn't put you to sleep before the end of the first chapter. Buy it. Better yet, have a friend buy it, then borrow it . . .
