How To Cope With A Disability

I had been to so many doctors that told my mom they didn’t think I could survive on my own. Well the doctors were right in one way. I can’t stand it when other people would tease me. I was teased a lot when I was younger. They always called me four eyes. They also called me other names I’m not going to mention.

This e-book is 9 pages chock full of Gertie's experiences and thoughts about living with a disability. It is worth what I paid because I also have a disability and Gertie's words remind me of what is real. Too often, writing about disability culture leaves US out. We need you Gertie. And it's about time we begin to claim our piece of the pie. To professional helpers and curebies: Nothing about us without us ever again. P.S. Please write some more stuff, Gertie, if you want to. You rock!

I enjoyed youe book Gerty. You said it plain and to the point. I have a difficult time when I witness disrespect given to a person with a disability. Sometimes I think its fear on their end...they need to really get to know that person. You hang in there.

Thank you for writing your story. It gives "typical" people something to think about. I hope you do well in your life and won't need to worry so much. Please write more books. The special needs community needs more honest, revealing books like this! Good job, Gerty!
