When her stubborn sister runs off the night before her arranged marriage, Meg Lyntonhardly hesitates before donning the wedding veil and walking down the aisle herself. It's the only way to save her family from sure destitution. By the time her wealthy groom discovers he has married the wrong sister, it will be too late to annul their vows. And too late for Meg to escape her wifely duty to a man reputed to be a devil in battle and the bedroom . . .
A bride is the last thing Nicholas Hartley, Duke of Temberlay, wants. Then he sees Meg and realizes that his wedding night will be a great pleasure indeed. But aside from the agreeable business of begetting an heir, Temberlay will never change his wicked ways for a wedding vow—until he discovers Meg's deception, and decides to teach the scheming beauty how to be a proper duchess, kiss by devastating kiss . . .
Great Story..............................................................................................................
Gutsy heroine out to protect her family. Psuedo rake out to protect his family. And enough dysfunctional family members to pass around on both sides. Well written. I'd try this author again.

This book was a disappointment because it ended abruptly with the main characters still needing to talk. It was very unbelievable that the hero was all that and could not express himself enough to explain his actions to his wife which said actions were to benefit her. The female lead really got on my last nerve with her just believeing anything anyone told her, she was so concerned about the other women but never confronting her spouse nor anyone.

I enjoyed reading this and I believe it is the first from Lecia Cornwall I've read. This story tells the tale of a spinster who ends up taking her sister's spot and marries a duke. I really despised some of the bad guys here - which means it is written well because it actually makes you 'feel'. The two main characters are delightful. The sister and the rest of the lead's family make you want to hit your head in exasperation. I truly liked this book. And, I will look forward to reading more of this author.

I read a lot of romance...enjoyed the main characters banter and relationship. I could unerstand the attraction and the ending stayed true to the characters personailites. Moved at a good clip never lagged. Have read a few times and still chuckle over the dialogue. Highly recommend

Overall great read. Loved the characters for the most part. Some of the conflict was a bit weak in that a simple statement from the characters could have resolved much of tye misunderstanndings, but there was great external conflict and a wonderful supporting cast to round the book out. I devoured it!

Enjoyed this regency romance. Meg is a fiesty young woman and Nicholas was little harder to like. Lecia Cornwall tells their story wonderfully and kept me hooked. It was one of those books that I could not stop reading!
If you love regency period romance, this is the book for you and you will not be bored!

Fast paced, and overall well told. There were some random jumps in the story, especially at the end, but fun nonetheless.

Great read. The author did a great job with character depiction. The characters had depth. You really had a chance to know them well. All is never as it seems. What I enjoyed most is how she allowed the characters to learn more of each other and it didnt all happen in the bedroom. She let them build their relationship. I look forward to reading more of her work. I enjoyed how these characters had to work on their relationship and that it wasnt so neat and perfect. It made it that more poignant when the ending came.
