Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Nicole Peterson Davis
Artists love to draw flowers because there are so many varieties, colors, and sizes of flowers all around. Unfortunately, this book could be confusing and unconstructive for a young student who wants to learn to draw flowers. The book gives step by step visual direction to draw the flowers, but the lines that are drawn in the first two steps do not show up in the end. So, either the lines were erased from the first drawings, or the next drawing ignored the lines that were made in the first drawing. Either way, this is not explained to the student. The part of the book that is helpful is the descriptions of the flowers. A young artist could learn about the flowers by reading the short description on the page and then looking at the completed drawing. The book contains instructions for drawing eleven flowers, along with a glossary of words and Internet sites a young artist could use to find other ways to help draw the flowers.
